Well, here's the 200 point army I used to go 3-0 at the Clan Cup Challenge constructed event at gencon. Keep in mind, no titans/multidials were allowed at the event.
Deployed Morg with levitation in first round, ran up an appropriate unit to cover him. Was usually the Tracker. Second round, moved up other 2 mounts, third round, slid in the Techno. Ring of toughness figures around the techno, elroodon in the back with Morg facing him. It was an anti-ram consideration, turns out it was never necessary.
I wanted a long range hurt option (move/lev with oombafoo) and I got it. Oombafoo put the hurt on an opponent's technomancer and shaman in the third round. I also wanted a charger for short term defense, and elroodon fit my 28 points leftover. I wanted a self-sustaining healer, and Morg fit the requirements with regen, while having toughness and some short range with 10 attack. I wanted a long range shooter, and I chose sislith over scorpem for the toughness, again.
This army beat the following armies.
#1
EGM
Techun
*x3 yellow shades
no real trouble in this fight. Let them get close, threw out oombafoo and rammed both egm and techun, got em seperated, then sislith went to work. Wasn't afraid to push Oombafoo for another ram... 4 clicks of ram with toughness is really nice.
#2
EGM
Cormelian
**Heavy Cavalier
*Standard Bearer
Deepwood Sentinl (the 19 point one)
Had some trouble. Took a potshot at the standard bearer, but it got healed. He played smart, leaving the egm a bit distant, but within charge range of the cavaliers. I didn't take the bait. He eventually broke up his formation to charge out my figures, and then I was able to control the attack advantage. A lack of toughness figures made it fun to ram.
#3
Athene
** or *** Shaman
* Techno
* Demi-Magus
Wandering Mochooch
Some atlantis filler
Had problems here. Athene matched my range, so I had to move/lev oombafoo out, esentially sacrificing him to do critical ram hits to his support units (techno, shaman.) By the time oombafoo died, he had rammed the techno once, shaken off Athene twice, and rammed the shaman once. The shaman also pushed once. A bound with the sislith demoralized the shaman, and I was in buisness.
Some things I'd like to do with the army, possibly, are add a Fell Reaper. I'd like to have the 24 inch movement possibility, especially with the entrance of Corpheus and everyone's screaming about him. I'm also considering dropping Morg and dropping the techno for the new crystal sprite hero fig, in the heroic quest packs. At level one, she's esentially a yellow technomancer, costing 26 points instead of 25, and with 8 attack normal healing instead of flames/lightning. She's more fragile, however.
Wow! Support from Borg is like, praise from God or something =-)
And yes, I love da Bears.
Elroodon is the LE Light Lancer. He costs 38, starts with 8 inch charge, 10 attack for 3 damage. Cormelian, whom one of my opponents had, is the LE Heavy Cavalier. She costs 58, I believe, and starts with 6 or 7 charge, 12 attack 3 damage, with weapon mastery.
