could someone explain me about that heroic quest... they are just so strong, a wraith golem with 3 flame ligthings, boudn with 10, WTF!!! he can move 20 if he want if not he can move and attack with a combined range of 22 inches!!!!!!! They sell them? is a new type of booster???
The Heroic Quests are a MK Dungeons product, packaged similar to artifacts. They play sort of like a role playing/fantasy role playing game. You get a new map, and a book with history on the heros and villians, as well as the fixed 5 characters. In the Warrior Search, HQ01 through HQ05 are in the Magestone Mines Heroic Quests, while HG06 to HG10 are in the Citiadel Heroic Quests. So you get 4 heroes and 1 "Master Advisary". The Master Advisary has his own wandering monster token that represents him. What makes them cool is the fact that you can use the new MA token in normal dungeons games, and pick out a specific unit to represent it (i.e. a Heriophant or Storm Golem).

At GenCon, a fw of the WK higher ups said that if these sold well, more would be made.
Its a new set comming out soon, that has alot of really strong but not unbeatable characters. The boosters have 8 figs in them i think. 2 Hero's, 2 new chests, and 6 random figs from the set. Hope this helps a little.
Shark...I don't think the figures have been released yet for the general public. They were available at GenCon from WizKids (I bought 3 packs of both sets). These are dual faction Heros. I get the impression that the purpose is to use them in BIG Dungeon games. Of course they can be used in Rebellion & Conquest as well.
You can get additional information in the form titled: "Is Corpheus that Bad ?"
From what I've seen people have become quite excited (and opinionated) about the figures because as you point out some have very, very strong stats and unusual configurations of stats (i.e. a Troll Gunner look alike with Necromancy). I think most peoples concerns are that they will be used in 200 pt games and cause havoc. Possibly, but I don't know (and I am trying to stay away from that debate). The potential counter balance is that some of the figures have very thin dials....they die quick.
Bottomline, like any new figure they will need some time to figure out how to play them and how to play against them.
The Heroes are supposed to be a bit better then your average bear. The packaging is on a card, just like the artifactes or dungeons builder kits. They come out Sept 11, 2002. Mrs. Draddog did the layout of the books and covers ;).
There is going to be 2 packs of 5 figures a piece. They will cost $16.00. Each one will contain 4 heros and one powerful "mage spawn". Corpheus for one of them, Salidar for the other. They are not boosters, but MK Dungeons stand alone packs. Which you can use with MK :). Hope that clears some stuff up.
Has anyone noticed that Corpheus seems to be the only "broken" figure. The rest are either slightly better replacements for the ussual staples or oddball necro figs with necromancy for some reason, except for Boltripper, he is just terrible
Speak for yourself! I love these figures, the teams are balanced and they obviously balanced these. Im already planning in my head and on paper a multi level dungeon quest!
Isn't it odd that a Troll Gunner has Necromancy though? I find that the models do not represent the figures very accurately, as it seems as though most of them deserve their own sculpt and creative paint job. Corpheus seems super powerful, come on, 10 inch bound!? I didn't even know that golems could even walk that fast. Looks like someone needs to mod those figures to look accurate to those stats though? The dwarves also get help, with their 12 inch force marcher Mancatcher, the joy.
This idea of packaging known figures that aren't too shabby as they have done with the Titan artillery pieces/Conquest uniques and the upcoming Dungeons groups strikes me as a good way to go in terms of letting everyone get plenty of power pieces.
Add in your favorite MDF's, Titan and Castle pieces to go with even a fair collection and suddenly anyone can put together a competitive Conquest army or have some nice power pieces for Rebellion format games.
As long as the piece sets include usable pieces I predict WK will do well and continue with the idea.
