I really like the ***Fanged Gunslinger, though his limited range is a problem for most armies. I wanted to know if anyone has used him successfully, either as a harasser or a Death Star like centerpiece in a tournament level army. If so, what pieces did you use, and how did you play him? His high point cost probably will force him into a 300 pt. army. I was thinking using 2 powerfull chargers/bounders to flank my opponent, and then flying a Gunslinger behind their troops, driving him directly into a FL fig, maybe a Solonavi Striker? Thoughts?

I've played Fanged Gunslingers only occassionally. I did have moderate success playing a ** & *** Gunslinger in formation with a *** Corrupted Priest. The Priest lends his 17 defense and provides MH and an attack option. This formation is great for taking down multiple targets where 1 click of damage can be of value.

The concern I have with the Gunslinger is it's low damage value, and short range for a ranged figure. However, in return you get a very mobile attack figure.

However, with all that I think the FG can best be used flying behind enemy lines and attacking the REMF figures (i.e. healers, necromancers, etc.). I would not use him as a center piece of an army simply because a moderate ranged attacker can take him down.

There's a Heroic Quest figure called Jess Blacklock
who looks like but is way better than the gunslinger
at level 4...

There's also foster gray, the sinister LE who was given out in great supply during the august campaign. You can pick him up off ebay for farily cheap, last time i checked. He's got better range, and venom for when the fight gets dirty.

I have used Foster Gray to much success... great figure!

use him one's he's effective as i thought especially his point value to high for fig like that hope that his range change to 10".

if only his range was high enough..
with a decent 10, I would definitely use him..

Foster grey is the best gunslinger around and he even has venom and 10in. range

Foster's Only weakness Is That he is made out of Glass aparently 15 Defense is Not enough.

the fangesd gunslingers IMO are horrible. I havent seen Jess but i have Foster and he is very dangerous especially in dungeons.

yes Foster has a 15 Defense but he has dodge. All you have to do is keep a healer in range. Also he makes a grate blocker for the Stonethrower

RAM O no one point of dam. It has fly so you get him out then att with other figs. Also if I play some one with ram I don't send foster after it.:D

True but There is Also ML/RAM with a Pyre Spirit 22 in. ram lol:rolleyes:

Plus What if you dont know if your oponent is playing a pyre and what if they hide theyre pieces until your both ready.

Foster is not the only fig in the army. I allways have one or two figs with toughness to deal with that problem.:)
