Just an idea for an army, Let me know what you think. And if it's a good idea or not
x1 Great Fire dragon (young) 202
x1 Light Orc Stone Thrower 84
x2 Woodland Scouts 14
300 pts
Ok the woodland scout's are just fodder and to meet the requirements for the 3 EL figs
I figure I might come agains't another MDF or titan, and thats why the dragon is there, plus since I've had my question answered about multiple F/L attacks, I'd be able to target 3 figs in contact with each other and do 2 clicks to the sides plus splash damage to the center fig for a total of 3 clicks to the mid, so pretty much the GFD is the ultimate in formation breaking
and as for the stonethrower it's a great piece agains't smaller fig's that aren't MDF but paired with the GFD it would be able to help out agains't other MDF's
What do you think? Any comments may be helpful, especially from Balduvian, who's alway's been helpful.
With Nyx she comes with command, shockwave, limited invisibility, 10`` range, 9 attack, 9 speed, 4 damage and can be put near the lost to attack things that come in under the 8`` min for the LOST
the light lancers help keep things from basing the LOST
the nightmare banshee is to mix things up and take out things that come in the under the 8`` min on the LOST
and has bound and shockwave
the imps are harasser's and cannon fodder
and the healer is just there for requirements and to heal the other figs
I like the Army with the Centaur Lts. I think you will need them for charging, squishing smaller figures and dealing with harrassers. I think a dragon and Titan in a 300 pt army is overkill. Without the chargers an opponent could rush cheap harrassers onto your OST and keep it tied down.
One thought. How about replacing your Mending Priestess with 3 yellow Woodland Scouts. You could keep the WS close your starting area and when your opponent rushs to put his figures into your starting area, b2b them. It may slow them down an action or two. You could also use them to form a LOS wall for your CL as they move into charge range....just a thought. Your MP will be a key target for you opponent, so not sure she will last long enough to be an effective healer.
One last point...while we are on the subject....IMHO I find it disturbing that these scenarios force us to use Titans and Dragons in a 300 pointer. I expect to see lots of HOSTs, Strikers, Dragons this weekend and unless someone does something really creative or old school most people will bring the same thing (I'm worried that someone will bring 2 HOSTs !!). I thought about it long and hard and decided I'm going to have to bring a Dragon or HOST based army myself just to deal with the other Dragons or Stonethrowers. Don't get me wrong...I'm not in favor of banning figures, but come' on, Conquest figures in an Unlimited / Rebellion scenario .... but I digress.

I agree. You need the chargers to protect the HOST or it will be tied up and useless for most of the game.
Don't forget chariots! I think you're right, if the army doesn't contain either a Dragon, a HOST or a Chariot, it is not going to be competitive. Having a HOST and a Dragon may be overkill however.
