I know that once a figure that has become demoralized as the result of being damage is immediately eliminated (cowards  ), but what if it gets Demoralized as the result of being healed? Chimeric Worms and Goblin Volunteers are good examples of this.
good question. in conquest, according to the rules, the goblin volenteer would immiediatly be eliminated. i don't know of any rules against that. and if the chimeric worms land on demoralized no matter how they got there, at least that's what i got from the rulebook.
Actually, there has been a new ruling that Goblin Volunteers are no longer eliminated once they are in play at the start of the game thanks to Kinnison's crusade. My question deals with Healing.
Last I checked a unit will only be removed when demoralized if it was caused by damage.
This allows Goblin Volunteers to be played but under the current rulse a chimeric worm would die if damage puts it to its first demoralized slot but not healing. If needed I will break out the rule book from the conquest pack but I just dont feel like getting it right now
Figures in Conquest are eliminated if they become demoralized as a result of taking damage.
Healing is not damage. You cannot become demoralized as a result of taking damage if you are being healed. So becoming eliminated as a result of being healed is pretty close to impossible, I'd say :).
Without insight from WizKids, I'll be trying this explanation out on the games I run.
When a figure is demoralized continue providing clicks of damage until death or other stats appear. Basically the Chimeric Worms advance past the demoralized position provided, if it lands on it at the end of damage dealing.
Your question brings up a good point. I for one like to use the chemeric worm, but like someone brought up, it would be pretty hard to play it in a conquest game.
The rules say that a figure is eliminated if it is demoralized as a result of taking damage. This seems pretty clear to me. If a Chimeric Worm takes 3 clicks and becomes demoralized, then it's out. if it takes 4 clicks and is not demoralized, it's still in the game. If you then heal it and roll a 1, it's demoralized, but not as a result of taking damage, so it can keep playing.
No arguments here, DV, but dstewart's idea would make the Chimeric Worm more playable in Conquest, without seriously altering the way other models are played.
Here's the deal, In conquest, a figure is immediately eliminated if it is demoralized DUE TO DAMAGE. So for example, a goblin volunteer starts it's stats demoralized, it isn't eliminated because it wasn't damaged. As of the chimeric worm, it won't be eliminated because it will only be really demoralized before it dies. makes sense?
The problem, though is that the Worm's 3-Demoralized slots are spread out in its dial. If you get unlucky & hit the first one through Damage, then the Worm is immediately removed without having to go through its other sets of abilities.
I don't think the rules should be rewritten just because of one figure. When we play the Chimeric Worm we need to hope like h*** that it goes past the demoralized slot, or we loose the figure. That's the nature of the dice roll. I think its a great figure and adds a little "mystery" for lack of a better word.
