Well with the prolific theories and experiments using armies based tottally on LI or close to it I decided I would lay out alll the LI figures and their potential uses :)
Crystal Protector: Flight, Healing and one click of LI make her a decent healer that wont end up falling victim to an evil GT players Striker or Corpheus but her cheap cost makes her an even better wall. :)
Flayed Lord: IF ONLY HIS RANGE WERE HIGHER! Still though a few clicks of LI alongside with F/L can't be too bad his Attack of 8 is somewhat restrictive but he would not be so bad when used in a formation with other lords.
NightWitch: Fast, decent attack and decent range alongside two clicks of LI and Necromancy allow her to be an excellent choice in any army centering around Zombie Baron
Phooka: LI, Range, and ME sounds like the start of an incredible deathstar. That is, until you find out shes Magespawn. Perhaps one day she'll see much more use when more shyft figures arrive.
Shadow: Chase your poor opponent around the board as this 6 chargin mutha gives your opponent a hard time. Just one of these bad boys is enough to make a deathstars players life a living hell. Use those regeneration clicks ASAP to get back into shape. :D
Vampiric Draconum: Abigger slower shadow that only gets meaner if your opponent tries to deal with it in the classic way of dealing with LI basing and attacking.
Warrior Sprite: Before their was crystal protector their was the Warrior Sprite. He still has his uses use them in a formation with a crystal protector to keep your LI wall going :).
Zombie BAron: mmmmmmmmmmm levitation to throw away what gets close range to shoot them and LI to mock their anger. Bliss. :)
AvanteReaverlvl3lvl2: LI with Magic Freeze you could do better for the price though at high levels the LI can aid in getting back into shape. :)
Deathroot: SLOOOOWWWWW But he has sneak attack if you really care. :|
Erithia Starsdawn: A bigger meaner Flayed lord :D
Jess Blacklocklvl3: One click of LI and decent stats. Your better off with something cheaper.
Potbellied Gremlin: slow, weak, and overpriced when you look at other options better for dungeons.
Wind Minion: 12 move 10 range and three damage that cant be shot back WOOT!!
before I forget
Nyx: Shock wave lets her deal with the other LI's
Trick a better pot bellied gremlin which isnt saying much.
Nyx is one of the most valuable LI pieces out there (a step down from the Zombie Baron and Windy). Why? Well, shockwave for four clicks, a range of ten, and four damage spells it out all too clear. I may be mistaken, but I believe she is the only LI piece to do four damage in those clicks of LI...
Ram makes it useless...unless...you can deal 4 damage AFTER being Rammed! Zombie Baron, Vampiric Draconum and....that's it, any other LI pieces against Ram are just dead meat...
It's rock paper scissors...LI might beat range, but will not beat Ram, Range especially with these long bounders like Amazon Drac or Corphy, can now beat Ram, but can't fight a bunch of shadows and the Baron or Wind Minion. Remember, a good Charge army will also destroy LI :D
Playing a complete LI army is .. silly. The only thing that LI is good against is range armies - and most range armies have atleast one bodyguard to deal with pests, and atleast some harrasers to block LOS from other's range attacks.
On the other hand, throwing a Zombie Baron and a formation of protectors, or maybe a shadow; into an army is certainly an idea - that way you have a few figures that can block LOS and still maintain the main theme of the army.
honestly I believe that Phookas will be good figures once more Shyft are released.. or atleast used in conjunction with Snake they will be playable.

Boy, that sure isn't true. Sure, you have to do damage to the rammer by WHO SAYS that the damage has to come from the figure that was attacked?
That is what Charge, Ram, and Bound (after breaking of course) are for; not to mention breaking away from the rammer and hitting it with multiple shots of ranged.
Your formula is far to simple to even start to address how to and how not to deal with LI.
An army with strong rammers can indeed be a pain for a LI army.
When I want to play some LI, I use it as support, not the main part of the army. A nice example is the Wind Minion, which is a great bait, great harasser in bigger games. Or Warrior Sprites, decent small harassers.
I don't think Ram makes LI figures useless, but it surely makes them vulnerable against other attacks. Especially fragile figures like Crystal Protectors and Phookas (ram magnets).
And we shouldn't consider raming a flying figure with ranged troops behind it. That's a stupid move.
An LI unit will obviously be a target for Ram. Just be sure that your LI unit has good support to rescue it from a jam (ex: a Charging unit to keep the Rammer busy while the LI unit tries to reposition itself). Of course, having the LI unit be able to breakaway easily in the first place makes things much easier. Having flight, charge, or bound can make your unit a real escape artist.
