I decided that if I play I will fight for the KI side on week 3. 250 pts with 2 actions allows for some slimmed down 300 pt armies that become more abusive the fewer actions the opponent has.
I decided to build an EGM "tank" army. Since you only get 2 actions I decided it must be able to all move in 1 turn.
EGM
Hvy Cavalier***
2 Hvy Lancer*
1 Hvy Cavalier*
Standard Bearer*
Amazon Mancatcher**
This is the non LE version. I really wanted a Shade** in place of the mancatcher to allow for the 12" movement but have nothing to really use the 3 pts on.
The LE version:
EGM
Hvy Cavalier***
Hvy Lancer*
Hvy Cavalier*
Elrooden Lightfoot
Standard bearer*
Im not so sure we will be using the Tower, since most players dont have one. I know that the Warlord running the event owns 3-4 but we often have 14+ players show up making a lot of towers needed.
It mentions in the rules that if you dont have a tower than alternative rules are listed in the conquest rules.
I can not stand that army..not yours but as much as i have had to play it...ok so onto the real army
ram is going to be the only realy worry with the army but i am sure you have heard Wkura and myself talk about how ot deal with ram and of course your a smart man yourself.
If you use it you will have to let me know how it goes. Most people are not use to dealing with such a monster. I like the build and i am sorta surprised you do not have Rathgad or Cormelien to go in it. Rathgad and Lightfoot together are just cruel
I dont own Cormelion or Rathgad. I had them before but have traded/sold them at various times. If I had Cormelion she would go in for sure, but I doubt i would play both in 250 pts. I like her 12 attack and 17 defense, but Rathgad doesn't seem to be worth the 10 extra points over a tough lancer. Feel free to explain to me why Im wrong though.
in general I like the design of Wkura's army but feel an opponent with 3 actions has a lot of options against it. with only 2 actions the army is far more abusive. Most of the time they will only make 1 of their 2 attacks, and the EGM can just heal it back up. I kept it the same style of movement (all in 1 turn) because I feel thats one of the most important characteristics of the design. The Mancatcher is not the best substitute for the Fell reaper, but something had to give in 250 pts. I considered cutting a mounted but just decided that if I needed an extra harrasser the I will just peel off one of the mounteds from the formation and send him in to his death.
5 clicks of charge
2 clicks of 4 damage
and then 12, 11, and I forget how the rest of the dial realy goes.
Now is he realy worth the 10 extra pts? Maybe and maybe not and is there realy that big of a difference between 11 and 12? maybe not either but 5 clicksof charge come in handy. I guess if you have the room to play with the pts it is nice but he by no means is a must.
The best part about playing this army with only 2 actions is ML/ram armies can only get 1 move/ram and will be forced to leave the rammer exposed. Similar yoyo armies only get 1 bound shot off a turn. its not enough.
