I was thinking about trading for a "Standard Bearer" for the Ki formation and scraping one of the others. I know the Sniper isn't great due to its 1 damage, and low attack. But it fit

Get the Standard Bearer, include him with the Knights Immortal Formation, take Sniper out and see what you can do to fill the points.

well ditch the elven zealot and sniper for a much better ki units, either elf at arms or templeblademasters (you could be get them really cheap) for a more solid melee unit.

a standard bearer would be very nice addition. hmm... pikemen are nice but not really enough with the current environment.

Since you got the Spirit, try to get a technomancer or Autumn for Magic levitation.
