Hi all, I haven't posted in a while (been busy at work), but I wanted your opinions on which army to take to the Tournament here in Tokyo this Sunday.
First things first, I don't have to worry about Charger Cheese or Corphcrapeus because neither Chariots or Dungeons related figs are playable at the tourney. OST's are legal however. RAM (the ability) is played rather heavily around here.
Those are my choices - please gimme a vote. If you have any suggestions, especially for Choice A (because I sort of want to play the Med Troll in a tourney) please share, but keep in mind I don't have all those power figs (Red WHKruggs/WImpalers/Sislith Trackers/Reapers etc.) that people always throw around.
BTW, A and B haven't been tested yet, but C was played against a melee-only Vampiric Draconum army and mopped the floor with it (I didn't lose a single fig). That doesn't mean much though, because the Vamp Drac rather sucks, heh.
If you feel like playing A, go ahead. The worst problem with the Medicine Troll is that it doesn't help the Trolls' low defense (no Defend SA). OTOH, it is Tough, so that is good around Ram. Overall, the army should work together well except for the lack of Defend. But what's the worst that can happen?
You've played C, so it looks like you're comfortable with tossing zombies. That isn't so bad either.
I like the Stomper and I do like Trolls, but I don't like army B. In the first place it is only 199 points, which is bad, but beyond that, I don't see the same level of mutual support within the army as with A and C. Army B has too few figures to support each other well (and all range, with no charger or rammer) but too many figures (and too slow) for Guerilla Hit-and-Run tactics. C looks like the strongest, but you appear to feel more like playing A. Go ahead and give it a go. You can always go back to C for the next tournament.
