me and some freinds were curious about an attack i made durei\one of our games , i was useing the ironrain hill giant adn useing one of his two turns placed him between the tail and the left side of the dragon , adn i beleived it was ok to do this , and after the coin flip i won and made the attack hitting both sides , the question is , can this move be made i have looked and looked and it doesnt say anything about it in the rule books so hopefully someone can help me thanks to all that respond
In any case, of course you can place the Giant on the line, but from there, you may attack only one segment of the Dragon. You may not Sweep two segments. Furthermore, your opponent (the Dragon player) gets to choose which segment you attack. You announce your attack, your opponent chooses which segment your attack will be resolved against and then you roll. If you want to hit a specific segment, you would be better off not basing the Dragon on the line. When you are on the line, either segment of the dragon can attack you (or both in succession) but you may only attack one segment of the dragon at a time and it is always the dragon player's choice. See http://www.mkrules.net/Rulebook/Spec...tackingGeneral for the following rule:

If a close combat or ranged combat attack originates along the borderline between two sections, the multiple dial warrior’s player decides which of the two sections is attacked.
sorry DragonVenom but I do believe you are wrong. I've come upon many situations where many differents warlords have verified that you may sweep both sides of the multi-dial. And even if the character say didn't have sweep, he would've been able to choose which side he was hitting, by simply declaring he had arc to which ever-side.
From Drake the Lessers annotated rules (Meaning it's his interpretation. That said, DtL is well known for having THE accurate interpretation on his site. Kind of an E&R for the lay people. Highly recommended.):

If a Sweep attack is made against a multi-dial figure, and the Sweeper is in base contact with the borderline between two sections, the multi-dial figure’s owner chooses which section receives the Sweep damage. This is because Sweep is an attack: it does not work like Ram or Venom, which affect both sections on the borderline.

Not if you're on the borderline; in that case, by definition, the MDF player decides which section is attacked.
You cannot "declare" which side you have arc to if you're on the borderline in order to attack it.

DragonVenom is absolutely mud-flapping correct. To sweep something you have to give your figure a close combat action. IT doesnt matter WHAT the effect is, it's a CCA so the dragon's player decides where it goes.
since warlords have replied in this thread .I would like to ask this question if an Atlantean Ram rammed a figure with toughness in borderline , since both sides have ram will the figure be only able to negate 1 ram only and the othe ram takes effect?
Originally posted by Darkhorse To further Balduran I's sentiments, I refer to the warlord clarifications and point out that sweep vs multidial may only affect 1 section...
where can I (the non-Warlord) of this site read that Warlord E&R again ?
I can't.
another question that could have been answered if WK would allow the E&R published to this site.

nightspawn, I'm not a warlord but I believe that the ram damage would be concidered two sorces of damage, meaning that they would both be canceled out by toughness.
