Before you say anything about it, this formation is pretty much for conquest only and yes it is pretty much sunk if it has to go up against anything with toughness but oh well.
The "ringworm" is made up of 6 *** throttle worms and 1 * bondmaker. Since conquest rules state the entire formation of mage spawn can move even if just one of them is touching the shyft, the action problem is taken care off. Plus you can have a maximum formation of 7 units. (Gotta love conquest rules)
This is where the name ringworm comes from.... The worms are set up in a "ring" formation. To put it in simple terms, think of one unit surronded completly on all sides by other units, then take out that unit. This leaves a "ring" of units. The shyft can be touching any which one but it doesnt really matter.
The formation surronds a target and that target is pretty much dead unless it has toughness or has flight. This is because each time it's your turn, the unit takes six clicks of damage due to venom. Of course your opponent will realize this when he/she's surronded but if he/she takes an action to attack and even if the attack manages to eliminate one of the worms, it doesnt matter. The worms will still do six (five if one dies) damage to the unit on your next turn. That is enough to kill any single based unit in the game (not including titans). Once you're surronded by the" Ringworm", there is no hope of surviving! MWAHAHAHAHA! Erm....ahem....
first, you have a max of 10 units for movement formations in conquest.
second, your opponent will see it coming form a mile away. they'll pick at it, or move just out of range, or clump any units in range together so they can't be surrounded...
venom doesn't work like that against tougness/invulnerabilty. since each point of damage comes from different units, they are each considered seperate sources of damage, and toughness/invulnerabilty treats them seperately, reducing each one by one/two.
