I've been working on an army and i need some help
____________________________________________________
magestone drac 88
2 **gunners 44
* demi magus 22
the magestone formation is a standard ME F/L group, i dont have *** gunners or i would be using them
autum heal and can lev the solo drone b2b enemy figs and with his 180 arch and 12 attack sweep 3 clicks he will be able to do lost of damage, make sure to do this after the enemy figs have moved so they would have to push to hit him, pushing the drone to get the first attack is a good idea also. The heavy cavalier proved the drone with back up as does the darkwing, both cavalier and the darkwing can retreat on a roll of higher than 1 if they need to be healed.
terrian:
not sure what do do here, I've been placing water pieces for my ranged formation to sit behind and slow down ememy melee figures
Well I am going to give some broad suggestions, but you be the judge to see if they apply.
1.
You only have two good figures, the drac and the heavy cavalier.
2. All the support that you give for #1, is just short in some way. Let me explain further:
The amotep gunners do not evenly match the drac's range. This is fine that you don't have the *** versions. My suggestion would be to toss them out. If they can't keep up, don't use them.
Darkwing zombie, what is he doing there? If you like him, fine. I like steam golems. But sometimes they just don't work. You don't have a grave robber, and you don't have enough of the zombies to make a swarm. For 22 points, you can put in a faith healer if you wanted to. Or you could improve on your autumn.
Solo drone won't be enough. Sure, you will fling him in and base 2 figures. Now they get a free spin and have the chance to kill you. With only having one drone, it is not effective. The opponent will just neutralize it, then move on. It is almost free points.
3. No real core strategy. If you are going for a mix that is fine. I say make a core strategy, so you know what you automatically have in the bag, and what is going to give you a tough time. When everthing in you army is a mix, so will be the game.
These are my suggestions. Take them as they are. Expand on your ideas. I hope it helps, and please PM me with the results. I am interested in what you think of.
Half of your army is ranged base and the other half is melee.
I like playing ranged armies with 1-2 melee figures for bodyguards.. or melee armies with maybe 1 ranged figure to help me get into b2b.
I'd consider dropping the two gunners (as mentioned) and the Autumn and putting in a technomancer to fill the AG formation and then add in a good MH figure for the points.
This is a good fling army but needs some more power for fling.
Try adding a Pyre if you can get one or some Thorn Maidens ** or ***. The venom will slow down stuff and the high attack and polearm means supporting the vulnerable target will be hard to help.
Also The Magestone drac is really bad for 88 points. If you want some good flame, try the Demiphant (one more point for 1 more damage and 2 more range) or the Vamp Drac (87....loses range but gets a slew of melee abilities)
vamp drac is up front because of LI sham-rin is in back with hammer and leach on either side.
guards
** unicorn tracker-45
***fell reaper-43
unicorn is ranged bodyguard and fell reaper is melee with toughness :D
this army moves at a speed of 12 so getting past range wont be to hard plus the vamp has LI making it even harder.
total:299 (darn so close)
the only ram i have is galesha ramcharger and it costs 48 pts.

terrain: was think about useing blocking near middle/closer to enemy spawn to make it harder yer for ranged to hit me. I hope this is an inprovement from the other army.
If you are using VampDrac just for LI I suggest you try a wall of Crytal Protectors Theyre cheaper and easier plus block a larger area. Plus if you are using shamrin who runs at 12 and Drac who runs at 8. The drac simply cannot keep up. Plus against the likes of Ram you will have a very very hard time. Shamrin loses FM in one ram and the leeach medic is fairly fragile as well as not having a high enough attack to really help heal. In conclusion I'd stick to your old army and improve from there.
do you have any suggestions on improving my old army?
oh yeah the new army has a mis calculations, take out the uni tracker and heavy cavilers change the ***leech to a *leech and add galeshi ram carger. dunno still working on it.
