I am playing a conquest game soon. I could make a decent army, but I have alot of unquies and what I have planned for an army sounds like something is wrong, rules wise. Any help would be app. I'm not worried about faction mixing. My army will be the basis for points. This is what I have:
Eldritch Draconum
Magus Draconum
Demiphant
Solonavi Destroyer
Paladian Prince
Necromancer
Order of Vladd
HEROES
Norfur Thott
Alsyn Vale
MISC
Dwarven Steam Behemoth
Polar Ice Dragon
I plan on picking up a few boosters of Pyramid and maybe additional stuff. If there is anything that someone thinks I should look out for please say so.
well if you'll be making any army, surely you have to consider how many points it's gonna be... you can't just throw in figs and come up with a 2000 army for a tourny that turns out requiring 3000 pts... :)
but if that's all you got, calculate how much points they are... then rally them by faction since only the co-factions could work with together... than looko for a general theme or set of abilities these figs may share... then build from there...
throw in all those figs first then eliminate unnecessary ones eventually... hope that helps... :)
I agree with Ronanov with the idea that you should use figures with common abilities and abilities that go good together, such as ML and Ram, or LI figs helping ranged troops move up. I think you need to learn more about the size of army you need and stuff like that before you start making your army.
It was suggested to me that I buy a Titan to fit into a Conquest army. I bought the IRHG and was not disappointed. A truly awesome fig. I picked it up for 15.99 at my local hobby shop.
It was also suggested I get the cannon 4 pack. Has the Orc Stonethrower (LOST/HOST), Living Ballistae etc. also for 15.99 or you can get the version with Nyx and Athene for a bit more.
Seriously, titans/tanks are great for us newer players because they eat up a lot of the point total and allow for some heavy beatdown. Pick one up when you get a chance!
Oh, and if I were you I'd buy Whirlwind if I were interested in making a Conquest army. A lot of great mounted figs etc in that set!
