 Some little (explitive deleted) that I play with, a cousin of a friend, constintly nudges his figs. What was once just slightly out of rage of a shot durring his first turn and my turn, becomes completely in range the next time he is up. After confronted by a friend and my self several times he casually denied it. That was till I caught him red handed nudging a Tunder Golem, I called him a couple of naughty terms, he denied the charge. So I chased him down to a lazy boy chair were he tried to boot me in the face, with Jackie Chan like reflexes I kick the chair on to it's back missing a boot to the face by inches, then I broke a ruler over his shins and prauded him with the pointy end. And gave him a hello swirlly
I don't suggest this for everyone but it was the most fun I've had being angry.:D
I thought cheeping was part of the game:confused: :D . You pretty mild when it comes to punishings cheepers:o . Where I'm from we chase the cheeper into the woods then hunt them with paintball/beebee guns:p. The person who catchers them gets that cheepers mage night collection. Then the cheeper is put into a box and kicked down our biggest hill, with plenty of trees. Just last week this happened to my brother(I miss him). I is happy because I caught him and got his fig newtons. Just thought you'd be curious George. Haha:p!
It's just a game. I can say that I have gotten angry with people before about these things (I can think of TWO in particular). But, what good does it do to kick their behind up between their shoulder blades? Other than make you feel REALLY good!
A few of my friends have begun berating cheats. Talking poorly about them all the time. This has discouraged it for the most part. BIT! If someone did this crud all the time, I would simple refuse to play a game with that person... however, in my experience, if someone cheats, they must continue to cheat, because the Dice Gods will most like fail them! :)
I think the best way to deal with these people is to make them declare their intentions and then make sure that they are aware that a piece is definitely out of range. If it "magically" becomes in range, then there was obvious nudging and the piece should be moved back out of range. This is pretty simple and all my friends do it this way. I trust every one of them, so I know they won't nudge, but it just makes everything way simpler if intentions are declared when moving a piece.
But I do agree that habitual cheaters and nudgers need a merciless beating.
Declaring intentions leads to cleaner play. If everyone knows where the fig is supposed to be and they all agree that it is feasible, then it just makes a more pleasant game.
We tend to over analysis our positions, so we call in the Surveyors Guild in mid battle to ensure the figures position is as accurate as possible. Word of caution: be carefull playing against civil engineers and architects.
yup, we do that here ...
we declare the moves and intentions ...
"SPECIALLY" when the figs are out of range ...
by just a few CMs ...
'coz there's this tendency on moving some figs that others might be slightly moved ...
and yes, we do try to have the min. amount of range that a fig can't hit us point to point ... let's say ... just about 2-3cms or even 1
For the most part explaining your intentions does greatly cut the percent of cheating down with the player in question... but he still is a little punk of a cheater. So I showed him the friendly post about chasing cheaters into the woods, paint balling him into submission, and the distribution of his figs.:D I'm happy to say the cheating completely stoped when I showed up our next game with this idea. But I do belive if at all possible to avoid violence...haaaa hah ha lol. Just kidding! :p
Your storie are great but this cant top this one. I was in a torn. for first place. The person hit me then it came to my turn. I had 14 clicks ready to hit him with( and it was his best fig). I started to attack him and he told the war lord that I was cheating. He confronted me and I told him that if he could hit me then he was in my range. The person took back what he did to my fig and said that he was not in range. the person finnally agreed that he had been cheating and That I did not try to correct him.( He said he added clicks to his fig) which he did less about all the time. The Warlord DQ us both. Notheless I came in last place cause of his antics. :(
Little bastards like that just need a good old fashioned a$$ kicking!!! If I work my butt off to get to the finals and some puke tried that, I'd make ####ed sure he never showed his face in that venue again:mad:
I don't have to worry about that #### where I play... everyone is fairly cool about things and for the most part, we do declare our intentions when situations can be mis-interpreted:) :) :)
