I'm going to a Dungeons tournament very soon (my first one after the activation changes... making my Foster Gray useless :( )
and I quickly whipped together this 100 pt heroic team
the only strategy I have planned is disarm chests with Zenrephet and level up hitash as quickly as possible. Meanwhile Autumn just sits around and either heals, ML's, or just gives me a activation. Any suggestions on this team?
In my opinion there are only 2 heroic teams worth using. This one is the one I use:
Hitash Levat Lv.2
Morg Bloodspiller Lv.2
Serillia Silverblade Lv.1
I always use Morg for a healer as he has 3 damage at level 2 and 10 attack making him a superb healer and a good attacker in any jam. Serillia is my thief and then I use dungeons chests with the number 110 and below as they normally have a low number for opening. Plus I love nimble:D. I always level up hitash first and then I never know who depending on the situation. The other army is the only one thats beaten mine without any error of mine (though the dice gods helped him not me) so I may switch to it.
Hitash Levat Lv.2
Chaotic grimm Lv.2
Some thief i forget who.
The strategy with this one is level up Chaotic Grimm right away then Hitash (of course) then continue to use your own discretion. I hope this helps.
I use the combination of zenephret and autumn too, although in my army they are level one. I find being able to magic levetate Zen towards treasure chests comes in handy, especially when one of my other figures is dying from MS. Good luck in the tourny.
DO NOT USE CHAOTIC GRIMM. Those random mages of the Orcs are to unpredictable to make a stragety with. Serilla Sliverblade is an excellent chose for a secondary fighter. I haven't examine the rest of the team well to give an effective analysis.
I would have to disagree with you there. One big strategy with chaotic grimm is that whoever is facing him may not know what to expect. This worked with me as once I had a near dead fig with enough damage to kill chaotic grimm but after I said I would attack him I checked to see what i needed to roll and instead of the miniscule 13 I was expecting at this point in the dial I needed to hit a 17! As I had already declared my action I could not "take it back" so I missed and was killed. Another good thing about Chaotic Grimm is that he has 2 berserk clicks. He also has 17 defence at level 3 with 13 attack and 4 damage. He is a great strategy piece if you know his stats and level him up wisely. I do agree with you if you are using chaotic figures in regular mageknight. Don't use them in regular Mageknight unless you have touch healers with various damage and still only if you can pay attention to the damage he has recieved and you still must know the clicks very well. All in all it takes a very experianced (or lucky) player to use this type of figure well.
You simply cannot depend on opponets missing things like that, Sure you might be able create a suprise counter attack with your hero everynow and then and maybe turn the tide. But If staring down something with Magic retaliation, you have to change your tactics every time your Hero hits, or losing a potent ability and haveing a diffcult time getting it back, and getting worthless. Since you cannot push you hero's in dugeons, if you "heal over" your needed ability is just as bad as not healing enough.
That is why he is so good in dungeons his best clicks are at levels 2 and 3 and you can not heal over those. He simply has a few useful clicks after being hit. If you use him correctly you can avoid counter attacks by shooting when out of arcs or dealing death blows. Also he has a few strategic times to level up like say he is at level 3 and he is your last hero... level up and you have necromancy. After you have your whole team back weakened with a lower defence level up again and you share with 18 defence and other good stats.
I see your point, but even if you get beyond that, which I haven't, he still isn't that good of a figure, his defense isn't that good his attack is average his damage is weak compared to the fact that is has no consistancy. I'd rather have a weaker figure that this consistant than a hero that swiches around. He's not that strong and he swiches between Melee and Range so much and his defense fluxes so much you really can have a good stragety
