I have made an army that seems really good, but I haven't gotten to play it yet. Anyway, can anybody rate this and tell me what you think? Here it is:
Wraith Unique 61
Stalking Skeleton ** 23
Stalking Skeleton *** 27
Nightwitch *** 43
Faith Healer * 16
Tormented Soul *** 30
Total Points: 200
It seems like everything except the Faith Healer would be very hard to get rid of, at least permanently. The Nightwitch would be keeping the Skeletons around, and maybe the Faith Healer also (by healing them...which really sounds weird considering they are all dead). The Faith healer would probably be hanging around the Wraith more, but give me suggestions if you have any better ideas. The Wraith is mainly the enforcer of the army, and hopefully I would be able to dish out enough damge to the opponent's army by outlasting them with the skeletons ability to avoid damage, or being brought back by the Nightwitch, or healed when possible by the Healer. I would try to hold the Tormented Soul back somewhat to reduce the opponent's army enough to keep over 2 damage from being able to be done by any of their army to it. At this point, the game should be in my favor. There seems to be a lot of flexibility with this army at the point that the original plan might fail. What do you think?
I like your first three combatants and I understand the need for a necro figure but why the ***version of the nightwitch? Why not a good ole' fashioned grave robber? It seems you'll be trying to use hindering type terrain to your advantage. Do you have any specific plans for terrain?
As for the healer the ***version would probably be much more effective. I would downgrade the tormented soul to a * as well.
Possibly by swapping out the nightwitch you could toss in a quickness harasser (shade, mancatcher, another skele) and upgrade the others without losing out on any action advantage.
Thanks for your suggestions. You are right about the hindering terrain. I thought about using it to protect the Wraith from powerful ranged attacks. I chose the *** Nightwitch because it is the only one I own right now, but I have all of the Grave Robbers. The strongest Faith Healer I own is **. I thought about using a Bond maker with another type of mage spawn dominating the army, but the only one of these I have is ** and i thought it might take too many points. I am getting another *, **, and *** Tormented Soul set. Anyway, I will have to look at the tough Grave Robber and see what I might fit in with it.
