Since my Venue still has all of the old boosters, and I was planning on getting one, I narrowed it down to two expansions, Lancers and Whirlwind. Which one should I get?

Both.

Actually, it depends what you'd rather get:

Lancers = great NS and KI mounteds

Whirlwind = great Krugg mounteds, but you could also get Shyft (yuck)

Thanks, by the way, I accidentally broke the sword off my Liege Knight, is he still tournament legal, I know his value goes down to almost nothing, but I don't care about that.

It is still tournament legal with a broken sword. But you can use some glues to fix the piece. Zap a Gap (found at hobby stores) has worked best for me.

i liked whirlwind the better of the two, then again lancers had some good stuph 2...

I love Whirlwind.... It was the set that shaked the game..

I suggest you buy Lancers... Great KI mounted!!

I suggest Lancers if you want good mounteds and Whirlwind if you want good infantry and uniques.

if you want AG, KI, or NS mounted, go Lancers. if you want EL, MS, or BPR mounteds, go Whirlwind. :) both sets have their share of good uniques as well. :)

I once made an analysis on how many GOOD mounted units there were in each expansion (it was a very boring class).

Lancers win by a large margin. Whirlwind has some excellent mounted units (my beloves Sislith Trackers ***), but Lancers has a greater number.

In the end, my vacation was over and I never had time again to analyse the Chargers.

Lancers= Techun, Lich, Arcane Draconum

Yes, Lancers has Techun, but Whirlwind has Emerald Glade Mistery.

Tough choice. Depend much on your playing style.

Also, notice that it is considered harder to pull a Unique from a Lancers booster pack than from a Whirlwind one. It has something to do with distribution when the expansions were released.

well the shift kinda suck wit new rules they better though.

luke_poa is right. Lancers had a horrible unique distribution. I suggest getting heavier boosters of lancers and lighter boosters of Whirlwind.
