Well, I opened my case tonight, got ot really have a good look at all of the Uprising figures. I like the set overall - very few figures that are unplayable overall, and a lot of highly playable ones.
Here's my personal top 10 list, with reasons.
10) Prieskan Barbarian - Toughness for Atlantis Guild cannot be understated, especially with the Shield Golem. The bane of Defend is auto-damage SAs like Ram and Venom, but you can't hit a Shield Golem with those if its surrounded by Toughness figures like these inexpensive, solid fighters.
9) Gyre Falcon - High Speed Flight, 10 Attack and 3 Damage on the Standard and Tough Versions make these birds deadly, aggressive harassers.
8) Fuser Orc - Although pricey, the Tough version is the best non-unique Shockwave figure i nthe game. 12" range and 11 Attack means that it will hit almost anything on the board. Get a Fuser Orc in close and Shock the heck out of a Shield Golem's escort.
7) Whelp Monk - The Dracs needed some rounding out, and between the Monks and the Alchemists, they got it in this set. The Monks get the nod for my list because they offer inexpensive Steath, Toughness and Weapon Master in one figure. Very useful.
6) Quarterstaff Warrior - 10 Attack, 3 Damage and PoleArm; these guys are like uber Elf-at-Arms! They also have a nice 270 degree arc. Very cool, and very nearly the 'Ironclad' of Uprising for me. They add just that much more versatility to the KI swarm armies.
5) Orc Tracker - Limited Invisibility for the Orcs! Gone are the days of having to break faction-purity to lay down a LI screen for your screaming hordes of Orcish warriors. Now that LI screen can BE screaming hordes of Orcs. Very, very cool.
4) Half-Troll Gorger - Orcs have Charge figures already - the Berserkers and the Orc Captain, but the Gorgers fill the gap between the low-ish Attack of the Berserkers and the high point cost of the Captain. With 11 Attack and 3 Damage across the board, the Gorgers stay alive and fighting for a long time.
3) Shield Golem - Defend of 20. There will be much discussion about this interesting figure in the weeks to come. Love it or hate it, Shield Golems are here, and they will be played in 200 point games.
2) Warrior Huhn - A beefed-up Troll Artillerist with Pierce. He scales down well enough to get him into Unlimited armies as well as Dungeons teams. Also, he's one of the coolest figures in mage Knight, ever.
1) Kzar Nabar - He's in this position because of his level 1 click. For 38 points, an 11 Attack, 4 Damage and 16 Defense with Toughness makes Kzar the best pure beatstick Hero in Dungeons. Kamune the Mighty? Trollkiller? Puh-leeze. Kzar's Attack stays at a rock-solid 10, at the LEAST, throughout his dial. Yes, Kzar's higher levels could have (should have?) been better; higher Defense, perhaps? But there's really not much to complain about here - with Kzar, WizKids has struck that elusive balance of creating a Hero that works equally well in both Dungeons and Unlimited games.
That was harder than I thought. Uprising has a lot of great figures... close calls for my list include the Forest Nymph (Quickness and Defend is very nice), Orc Sentry, Tribow (too expensive for what she does, though) and the Falconer (low Damage hurts her, though).
Overall, a great set. I can't wait to see the effects it has on the game in my area.
Well, like I said the Forest Nymph was a close one, almost made it on my personal list, but there's already a lot of 18 Defend in the game. Yeah, Defend + Quickness is cool and useful, and I think the Nymph is a good figure.

Whoops, sorry. But I still think Kess should be up there.
And you also forgot to mention Magus Anendu. IMO he is one of the best unique from uprising. Bound+MB+Command on a such small price and you can use it in its highest level for a 200 ptr. I make him my #1 for my list.
PK, I agree with you on pretty much everything, with the exception of the Gyre Falcon, Prieskan Barbarian, and Huhn and Kzar being rated so high.
First off, Kzar at level one is a beatstick, and he does deserve a spot in the top 12 or 13, maybe even top 10. As for the Barbarians, personally I think they're horrible. I doubt they see any tourny play time or any play at all really. The Falcon is also very nice, but once again, I'm not quite sure it deserves a top 10 spot.
In place of the last two, I would put the Goblin Runner and Forest Nymph. While the FM slots are hard to get to on the Runner, a 13" FM is huge. I'm sure in due time people will figure out the best way to get them to their FM clicks. The **Nymph is one of the best figures in Uprising. Quickness and defend is great. She moves at 8", fast enough for most formations and her 18 defend is better than almost all non-unique defenders (besides the Shield Golem). She also only has one click of nimble, which of course, is virtually useless.
Honorable mentions go to Kess and Anendu, but they stay in the top 15 for now, though after playing around with them, I certainly could change my mind.
To all those who doubt Conan the Prieskan, I used a *** one in week 1 as a secondary attacker- next to Darq :) and cleaned house with him. He is very nice, The fact that his defense went up to 16 from 14 on his beserk click was great, in the endgame the opposition couldn't hit him.
I chose the Prieskan because Toughness is something that the AG just didn't have until now, kind of like I chose the Orc Tracker because the Orcs never had LI.
Although I agree with everyone that Magus Anendu and the Forest Nymph are both very good figures, they don't offer much new to their factions. More Defend for the EL, I'm all for that. Yes, you can use Quickness to move her along with other formation, and that's very cool. Magus Anendu Bounds with Magic Blast. That's a great combo, but Khumeret already does that for AG.
I guess looking through my list now, I'd probably replace the Gorger with either the Forest Nymph or Magus, though. Gorgers are cool, they last forever, but they're expensive, even in Conquest.
I agree that the magus should be somewhere in the top 10 and you are right about having a lot more discussions on the shield golem. I really enjoy that he his doubble faction, which greatly increases the usefullness and will be fun to see the things people come up with for him.
I like the list you have made...all solid, playable figures with the emphasis on playable and usefull.
I'm suprised Grathel hasn't jumped on you for putting Kzar at number 1. He's got no battle fury you know. ;-) Just kidding Grathel.
I think the Whelp Monk will really be a great fig only if they change the stealth rule allowing stealth figs to move through hindering as though it was clear terrain.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to jump on the Forest Nymph bandwagon as well. Yeah, there are 18 defense figs...but quickness is such an addition. All the other 18 defenders are uniques or the Shield Golem, and you'd have to use an action to move those figs with the figs you want to defend. I'm really excited about using the Nymph with bounders, chargers, and Orcs.
