in the post about the sheid golem, they mantiond putting some blade golems around the sheild golems. most people from what i understand didn't see why and said just put a big expencive peice by it with a good attack. well I think I know why they said put them together.
1.you can put four BG'S around a shield golem and it will not go over 200 points if you play it right.
2.you can have a SG/BG formation go up to another formation with out bieng hit for a while becuase from a range youd have to get a 22 then you could smack people with fourmore often.
3. sheid and sowrds go together right.:p
actually what's wrong with the Amotep Maiden, she has an effective 13in-14in range with 2 targets and 9-10 attack, couple her with a couple of longbows and a standard bearer you then have a great softener for your KI beatdown squads
and the piper what's wrong with the Shyft Piper, the weak one is only 3 more points more than the weak Heart Seeker, and he gets aquatic and MC to boot and the tough gets dodge for only 9 points more and now it allows you to use your deep spawn lizard men and shelled ones more effectively
Vampric Thrall comparing it to the rancid, it survives 2or 3 clicks longer than the rancid has better stats on the way down and let's not forget that it also has regen on it's last 2 clicks, no demoralizing and all for an average of 5 points over the rancid and you only lose flight ,which while being a good ability it's not something to cry over
steppe rangers ,just how is this a bad fig?????? so what is has nimble and 270 arc, BFD, it's only 5 points more than it's pure BPR counterpart and 9 points more than it's pure OR counterpart (Galeshi Dervish and Emissary if you were wondering) and the stats are comparable
Steam Gunner, yes it has a low range and an 8 attack but compared to other BPR figs in the price range, it's not that bad, only one click of demo and FLAME/LIGHTING,and Psionystic it easily replaces the Khamsin Fuser, which is also the only figure the same price range(boomers are a tad more expensive for me to consider them)
Succubus- what's wrong with magic freeze? (and you should know the new rules by now.)
Xandrissen Diver- reasonably priced harasser and capturer
but the thing i've noticed with all this "bad" figs is that they're best used in formations(and if you say that's the mark of a bad fig then the E@A sucks too)
#1 Steam Gunner
#2 * Fuser Orc
#3 Vampiric thrall
#4 *** Mage stone knight, he is way to over costed and can't move worth a ***.
#5 Half orc Hatcheter really hate this guy.
Spirit Taker* is a pretty nice piece. For 18 points you get a quick harraser with somewhat of a first strike (sneak attack) and the ability to do 4 damage. With rear arc bonus you have a 9 attack which is mediocre, but hey its 18 points!
I'm pretty openminded about Uprising. There are only 2 figures that I see as having no redeeming qualities.
#1 Shyft Piper - why have AQ when I can have FM with a Bondmaker and as an added bonus he has defend and not MC(great ability) with 6" range (horrible for a ranged figure)
#2 Xandressan Diver - these figures make no sense to me at all. I'd much rather play an Utem Guardsman*** or even a ** or * Guardsman. So they have AQ. This has never been an amazing ability and it certainly hasn't become broken with this release.
That said, I think that most of the other figures will find their way into some useful armies, whether they be theme armies or tourney armies. I do take objection to the notion that Amotep Maiden is no good. I'm sure many players will find uses for it. However much I want to compare Steam Gunners to Khamsin Fusers, I still end up comparing them to Amotep Gunners. For 1 pt more than the ***Steam Gunner, I can have a **Amotep Gunner which is superior in nearly every way and is still by far inferior to the ***Gunner.
