This army is ideal to bring down big figures like strkiers! 1 keep safe techun with hindering terrain and the crystal protector, while I move the wind minion all over the field, if facing big bound armys, I use shockwave, to force him to near his healer and then take him with techun, otherwise, I just kill hersers with the wind minion, while he either goes to techun or to the minion. By having to threads to my opponent, It's imposible to take your hevy hitter to both attackers, so he will have to go either for minion or techun. Both of them will fly away. ANd the non-attacked one will kill healers and herrasers.
I like the first one better, but you may want to add podo if not, change the crystal protector to a ** and put in a * gob vol. Yes, I do disagree about point cost must, but when you can do it, do it :)
Ram is a big problem for this army and with the AD, we are seeing more ram.
actually...
the ***Crystal Protector is 17 pts. while the **CP is 15 pts. i like the second one better. it just has more threats. and the Solonavi Channeler does a better job of healing.
i like the second one better. the solonavi is a better healer, and marrow is very useful in a range army, as you can base the big bounders and the techun can pick off harrassers and support until the bounder breaks and is shot at. also, you simply must change the * lancer to a * hvy. havalier. she has the same starting click and about the same dial, but she has WM, which, if used correctly, can be devastating.
The first army you listed can get swarmed too easy with only having three figures. Yes they are highly mobile, but that only lasts for so long. There is also the matter of having a healer that can only really effectively heal when these two are low on their dials.
The second army has a nice balance of fast moving troops, one good ranged figure and one good charger. Marrow is a good choice as his LI will give your opponent to pay attention to where he is so that he doesn't get too close to their figures to use his Weapon Master attack.
The Channeler is a good healer for the cost.
I learned a few things playing Techun for soooo many times:
- it does require a GOOD charger. By 'good' I mean something at least with 10 Attack and 4 Damage (Weapon Master may do in a pinch), something that will scare your opponents from basing Techun;
- it requires 'quality' Healing. Techun's Defense is quite stable and too high for a Crystal Protector to realiably hit. A 10-Attack Healer is usually a must.
Your second army mostly fills these requirements, but maybe you could take the Heavy Lancer * out and add a Heavy Cavalier * in its place.
