I was trying to come up with a decent 300pt army and wanted to use these two figs, but I am somewhat stuck with some points left and not sure what else to add.
Mt. King 108
Riv. Jaysa 76
Black Dirge 35
Wyvern 44
*** Cryst. Protector 17
280....
What would you do with the last 20 points? I can always downgrade the CP to get 22 or 24 points but I am just not sure what else to add. I was thinking about a ***Shade but wasn't sure.
What would be a nice addition to this army? And is this army even worth it?
Basically I had planned to pair up one LI fig (CP) with Jaysa and one LI fig (BD) with the Mt. King to help get them across the board, with the help of good terrain placement, and harrass with the Wyvern.
Thanks for any input.
If you want to put in a few wild cards, add 2 * Skeletons (10att WM)...
Hang them behind and later in the gam emove up and push to WM something....worst case is you make your opponent push in fear of the WM, and its only 10 pts lost...
Its amazing how 1 skeleton can alter the course of a game if you tail it behind the army....
Thanks, not bad ideas.
I don't have 2 **CPs but I could keep the *** CP and put in a *CP and a **Imp to equal 300 total.
Temujiin, I don't have any Skeletons unfortunately, but for the 20pts I could put in one Armored Skeleton with WM to do that job. Which would make for 6 figures that can all move in 2 turns.
I will have to try it both ways if I get the chance. I think I would probably opt for the CP and Imp idea just because I like to run a relatively mobile army. But the extra WM fig could be nice.
Anyone else?
Another good idea, thanks jviper. I don't play with Mancatchers too often because I usually play with friends and they are more of the fight to the death type games. But since I would like to play some tournaments I should probably shift gears. I do like the extra click on the *** CP though. How about this?
Mt. King 108
Riv. Jaysa 76
Black Dirge 35
Wyvern 44
*** Cryst. Protector 17
** Amaz. Mancatcher 19
Total 299
I know I am a point short, but I like that group better. As long as I can keep the AMC from being hit she has the same initial stats for movement and attack as the ***. What do you think?
its okay, i guess you really like that *** protector. the only downside to the ** mancatcher is her 1 damage. if youre facing an army with alot of BF, then it will be hard to capture and the mancatcher will need to fight. the other scenario is against a BF fig that has toughness. knock him down a click and then push to capture, she retains her quickness. i always like the *** ones better, but as long as you have enough damaging figs, then you shouldnt need the damage and the ** will be fine. plus she can always tie up big bounders who wont waste a shot on her because it would leave them open for an attack. good luck man!
The best way to run Jaysa is in a KI Tank, as it will utilize all of her abilities. I would run:
Formation:
x3 Heavy Cavalier*
Rivvenguard Jaysa
Standerd Bearer*
Mt. King
Mt. King sticks close to the formation to give it some range cover and to Ram anything that would base the formation first. The formation charges anything that would base Mt. King, while making its way up the field. In higher point matches include some harassment and a healer or too. A LI screen would help, too. A possible 400pt. variant would be:
Formation:
Rivvenguard Jaysa
Heavy Cavalier***
x2 Heavy Cavalier*
Standerd Bearer*
Formation:
x3 Crystal Proctector**
Fell Reaper***
Mt. King
For terrain tips see my article in the Battle Plans section.(sorry for the self endorsement)
Yeah, I do like the ***CP, jviper. That extra click of healing is nice. And I had planned on taking opposing figs down a few clicks with either Jaysa or the Mt. King before moving in and attempting the capture with the AMC. As you said.
Outlaw, I do agree that Jaysa is definitely best used in a KI formation army. Unfortunately, I don't have that many KI mounteds except the Champion, 2 *Light lancers, a **Light lancer and a *Heavy lancer. Although I do like your suggestions, maybe I can try that type of army as well with what I have.
Right now I like having the harrasser and LI options.
