I just acquired a sealed Fist of Tezla. I can read through the plastic blister on its front dial, "Awarded for Outstanding Achievement".
1. I didn't win it. I bought it.
2. I am both a collector and a player. Almost equally - yet I don't fantasize about acquiring all of the LE's or anything, and have very few LE's, as it is. But I like having odd figs that others might not have and I collect figs that are "cool" sometimes just to me.
So here's the dilema: Do I tear the thing open and play with it (I'm big into Conquest, obviously), or do I leave it sealed up as a collector's item. It's very possible that I'll be interested in selling stuff down the road. What will its value likely be - both in and out of the package? On the flip side, I've played with dragons and titans, but no tank. Are they fun to play with, or will I keep going back to the dracs and IRHG?
I'd open. There is no difference in game terms between the two versions (stats are identical, etc). To my knowledge, the value of the these has only gone down, not up. It's something I'd save as a representation of winning a special tournament. As something I happened to buy somewhere, it doesn't even have that value.
fist of tezla...i wish i still had mine o well theres always the half off sale at bakers....WHAT THAT STOPPED LAST YEAR!!!
anyways I had fist he rules as long as ur opponent dosnt get first attack with a polar ice or anything.
Play away we have a Great Fire Dragon my wife got at Origins for participating in Nationals. Its cool and all but identical to the GFD we already had except the wording. The value wont be any different but the fun value of using it in conquest will be greater.
I opened mine, but wish I didn't. The reason? To my knowlege, tanks like that (i have one too) have only been awarded twice, Worlds, and at the MKRealms Clan Cup Challenge. So its quite rare. But whether someone would want to trade for it is up in the air.
