You will also suffer 3 damage for doing that and be pushed. You would end up making an attack for 4 damage, suffer 3 damage in return and then be susceptible to an attack from the opponent--and the Wraith's defense would only be 15. Does not sound too powerful to me.
It would only be able to go 35" and attack. It would also take 2 clicks damage before attacking.
While the old figure (I've heard) get to use double time, I'm not sure if they get to use surge.
Will just have to wait to how is compares to new figures that are released.
Don't forget a new unique costing 41 points could get a 20 point artifact and be a b!tch in melee.
Can you Double-Time and Surge at the same time? I'm pretty sure you can't since in the rules Double-Time is a Movement action, and Surge is a Close Combat action. Those are two different actions and theirfore can't be used simultaneusly. Atleast that is what I gather.
I think Wizkids would set it up this way on purpose anyway, since if you could use both Surga and Double-time at the same time, Range gets almost no first-strike capability.
Long story short, Double-Time and Surge require seperate types of actions to perform and therefore can't be used simultaneously since you can't give two different actions to a single figure in one turn (outside of Titans). I am pretty sure I am correct, but if I am wrong please correct me.
You're correct Vapor. However, I think the intent of the original post was that in two turns you could move 36" (all the way across the board) and attack. This, however is at the cost of three clicks of damage, two of which would be dealt before the attack.
The sequence would go:
1st turn - Double time, take a click
2nd turn - Move, take a click for surge, attack, take a click for pushing.
To me, attacking on the second turn near their starting area, and the rest of their figures, is not worth the three clicks of damage. You would have no healer near by and are likely to get based by one of their undamaged figures immediatly.
I still don't think the Wraith is that overpowered though. Heck if you do that then your Wraith is dead. Of course you could get the same sort of speed out of a Spectre or Shade, who might be able to cover for the poor dead Wraith. What am I talking about? I would never, ever do this kind of attack.
ok you are missing somthing hear, you send your wraith 36 inches away from the rest of you army. She cant break away easy either. You cant heal easy. You have just signed her death. But thats all worth it apparently for some of you that 61 points is worht the chance at doing 4 damage.
These kind of rules will help stop bound figures, so that even the little guys can catch up to them.
If you think the wraith is good, just think of a blade golem, for half the price, and almost as good stats.
