I'm really hoping WK releases some kind of official conversions for old figures to 2.0, but in the meantime I was thinking of using the following, as I'm keen to try out the new rules.
1) A model with Magic Blast, Necromancy, Magic Healing or Magic Levitation counts as having a wand attack symbol.
2) A model without one of the abilities in #1 and with a range over 6 counts as having a bow attack symbol.
3) Other models count as having a sword.
4) A model with multiple arrows counts as having a minimum ranged damage value equal to its number of values. It can use this value or its own damage.
5) V1. Chargers and Bounders have their speed score doubled.
6) A model currently showing the flight symbol counts as having Flight mode instead of its normal movement mode. (No idea if this will be the case or not, but I want to try out flyers!)
7) Aquatic DOES not override normal move mode...that would be more penalizing aquatic models!
Sorry got to say I do not agree that Skyros should be able to surge 20in. 10in was not that bad but 20in even with all the speed increase is just getting stupid.
I really think they have to do something about older chargers - sislith bladesman *** moves 5 in and costs 51 points. Aftter a click he drops to 4 inches!
Any charger from a faction that can't be forced marched is effective wasted plastic. Unacceptable to do this to existing players in my opinion.
Hey I am nto saying that maybe the chargers are not going to need some help. I mean you have to think even under our current rules a 5 in charge on a mount is not that great.
Give a bonus with mounts to somethign but think abotu what you are doing here.
Scorpems now have a 20 bound, Corpheus has an effective 32 in range, Kermit can MB from 26 away, Magus anendu can MB from 20 away, AD has 24 in range with pierce and the list goes on. Yout hink you have problems with bound now.
Lie I said I am all for the mounts getting a little work. Allow them to doubel time even if they began the turn b2b with an opponent or soemthing
Double time will not help most of the EL charger mounts - they're based on the crystal "glass jawed" bladesman. Give them 1 click you might as well kill them.
It's already pretty stupid that a group of KI forced marched can outrun some mounted units - this is the ultimate insult.
Simply being able to play old figures isn't going to be good enough - if they don't do something about existing chargers and to a less extent bounders you might as well throw them in the garbage. The Sisliths and many others will never see play again.
I've got too much invested in an EL mounted conquest army full of chargers to see it go in the garbage and start over. :(
Ok lets think about this for a minute. Charge allows you to surge without taking the click.
So
All mounts may use double-time but do not take a click to do so.
All mounts may double time even if they began the turn in b2b with an opposing figure.
ANyone notice that it does not say anything about chargers not being able to move in formation? So it seems that maybe chargers coudl charge in formation.

True, I hadn't really considered the fact flat out doubling means you can still move double and attack. A bit nasty. The big problem is that with most models, double is just a normal move amount. Its those cavalry models with really big moves, and one or two stray bounders that cause problems. I'll have to try it both ways and see which seems better. The thing is that with Surge, lots of models can go 8" and still make an attack (though it costs them a point), so for chargers not being able to go even that far really hurts them. Maybe I'll just go with "V1 models with bound or charge count their speed as double when making a move action". That'll get rid of the problem.

I do not agree with number 2....Is Wraith a ranged piece? Is Sneaky Grook? No way those pieces should be a bow attack.
Actually, the two pieces you listed seem like primarily shooty pieces to me. The main point of the wraith is to hide in woods and shoot things! But I do agree that some things would wind up as bow class troops that shouldn't be - the Heirophant for example. However, I wanted simple easy rules for what counts as what. A lot of exceptions for special cases would muddle things. Furthermore, anything that falls under the "bow" category will be able to make good use of the bow special rules even if they are a good melee model as well, whereas a lot of missile troops would have no use whatsoever for a "sword" attack type.

According to the photographs posted, Charge will NOT have the ability to double movement at all. Also, Charge will no longer break away on a 1. Mounts will still be able to break away on a 1 though.

You are correct that CHARGE does not allow the double move but all mounts have the horseshoe speed symbol with allows one to double move if it did not start the turn in b2b with an oppossing figure.
Ok I see where your confusion is...my following statements from above
"So

Was a suggestion on how they could help mounts out not hwo moutns could be played under the rules right now. Doe sit make more sense now? He wanted to double the printed value on all figures with charge but that would screw things up big time. So if you gave mounts a boost it would still kill some of the chargers we have now ( which get freespins because single base chargers do not have the horseshoe) but it woudl help both the bounders and the chargers. By allowing them to do what I suggested it allows them to get away and makes a littel sense since they are on mounts and not on foot
