The Podo trick will only work if you go first, but do realize by going first, you'll have to get a LOW roll, which is really hard to do, and keep your opponent from playing a Domain which matters, or a terrain pieces where your token is.
For those who didn't notice: you have to put your objective token at least Xinches away from your starting area, where X is the number you rolled to see who goes first.
Edge of starting area = 3"
Average roll = 7"
So, Podo would have to double time it to the objective, and hope his opponent rolled high enough so he couldn't get to his objective on his turn.
Thats not how Podo works though. He starts demo, so the game ends. Once it ends, if the amount of points are equal, the army that is less points wins. Podo is a 3 point army.
I'll throw another figure into the discussion. How about a Tormented Soul ? You simply double time your first action (hopefully you have first action) and he dies. No one has captured an objective and you win because you had the lowest build total.
So true, and I seriously doubt any sane MK player would only bring a Podo or TS to a tourney, but wouldn't it be fun to watch the face of your opponent when you bring out your TS and smile at him. What a hoot....may be worth a loss just to see their expression. The question is what do you do with the other 49 minutes and 30 seconds ?
Personally, I think we all need to just hold tight until the rules are released and find out what WK's has planned for us.
