New 2.0 Abilities Surge and Double Time, what do you think?
As of November these abilities are to affect 1.0 figures, all of them, along with other new abilities. Note that these are not Special Abilities and all figures have them.
Double Time-Move a figure twice its printed movement value, then give it 1 click of push damage.
Surge-Move a figure into base contact with an enemy figure, give it a click of push damage. This figure may attack this turn. This ablility does not work on ranged combat.
I also heard that you will be able to fire at enemy figures with range that are in base contact with a friendly figure, but the attacker gets -2 to its attack for that attack only.
1 more thing I heard is that if there is a friendly figure somewhere on the board that is a Shyft, you may move Mage Spawn in formations.
I heard these from a Warlord friend of mine, but I don't want to give out any names, because everybody knows him.
Just imagine all the possibilities now. Moving rammers into figures, then attacking. Having formations of throttle worms. And the Wear figures just got a whole lot better due to Surge. The list goes on and on...
The Demo rules have been posted on the forum already. No reason to worry about disclosing information. The Demo Rules will probably be released in PDF format soon and Venues around the world will be getting demo kits and figures next month to show off to everyone that didn't get a kit from GenCon.
