I'm going to my first gaming convention. I've cleared it with the wife and kids. I've marked the calender. Work will not be an issue. I may even have accomodations already arranged.
When I visit the DragonCon website, I cannot find any information regarding $ registration fees. I also cannot find any MK related events scheduled. I plan on attending Sat & Sun.
I'm not your typical gamer at heart. The convention interests me only because I understood there would be MK events available. I don't mind a 1/2 day's worth of demo-ing Shadowrun/mech warrior etc, but one collectible game is a big enough wallet drain. (Particularly with rules upheavals threatening past expenditures. ;) )
Any previous Dragoncon attendees here who might shed some light for the uninitiated?
I've never been to DragonCon - but I am attending.
On the website there is a preregistration form that you can print out, fill out, and mail in (which I have done).. or fax in (which I probably should have done but I'm not quite that bright).
You shouldn't have to worry about finding players to play dungeons against - heck, I'm sure that I'll be willing to play a multiplayer dungeon if someone sets one up. I think we should arrange one (since I have not even bothered to look up the "official" events) - where each hero is "unique" in the dungeon (no two players playing the same hero). Just have the hero selection done like a draft... could be cool. (that way not half of the players end up playing astrus in a 6 player dungeon!)
Anyone else out there interested in this kind of a game?
Good questions all.. the only reason why I preregistered (as opposed to just paying at the door) is that I hate lines... and usually the preregistered line is shorter than the pay at the door line.
I've no knowledge on the events that are actually being sponsered by WK, but I'll go look around and maybe I'll learn something.
Ok, I just did a search for WizKids events at DragonCon.
Odd.
I found zero of them, so I went back and recounted them, twice - just to make sure that my math was correct.
Very strange.
Even though the DragonCon website mentions WK as a participating game company, and the WK website lists DragonCon as a convention that they will be at - I guess those lists are given to mean that they will run a booth for people to buy things at, because no where on the "events' list could I find any mention of even one WK event. I suppose that means that if anyone actually wants to play the game - they'll have to work that out amoungst other players.
