My local venues owner has this huge setup that he got frome some guy when he bought a huge comic book collection. so one side has this mountainous terrain and the other is lowlands (theres also a river running right through the middle of it), its really nice looking and is a joy to play on. So this was our idea, There is an old atlantean post/town which is an advantageous place for a ruler to control, so we had ahuge 200pt ffa, and I won, thus taking control of the little atlantean town (constructed of various items then placed right in the middle of the map). So then I had control of this one whole section, and now I am out campaigning to "purge" the wild area outside my town of theives and fighting (which were played by the others who were in the first round). One particular player was a great help and allienced with me, so at the end of the battle, I gave him some land (a few islands south of my town). So now we just play it as it goes and we have a neat little storyline going for us. So my question is, what types of casual campains do you guys run?
I like to run four part games using heros.
my players get 50 points to chose a 1st level hero, and then outfit them with single use items, like:
potion of healing= 5 points (heals 1-3 clicks)
arrow of accuracy= 5 points (+ 2 to hit ranged one use)
holy hand grenaide of antioch= 13 points ( Ranged Shockwave)
you get the idea.
then they go on a mission or quest, like 1st level, maybe sack a gnoll outpost. ( I create a threat with a point cost of 50X the number of players I have)
they level up if they compleat the mission.(get 50 points, spend enough to level up and then buy items with the rest.)
The object is to challenge the players not kill them.
Im having a little trouble with power creap, there keeping to much stuff from one level to the next.
I'm trying to get a BPR vs. NS campaign going.
Yes I know they arn't right next to each other but I'm aloud to put them next to each other!
Ok here's the backround really:
Theres this wall dividing the BPR and NS vampires. Now the BPR caught a whole heap of vampirs so NS wants them back. All the vampires have to do is get over a wall and then they are safe. Well res-q parties go over and take some vampires to freedom, but there is a whole heap of Khamsin's shooting at them as they go to make sure they don't get away alive.
So one day this one Khamsin is shooting at a vampire and can't kill him and the vamp gets over the wall. The Khamsin fires off one more round and hits the vampire, and kills him. Now everything stops because they had a understanding that if a vampire was over the wall he wasn't to be shot and if this happen then the NS could attack. Well now here's were the battle begins.
You get a 3' x 3' board like normal and place a wall across the board. NS on one side, BPR on the other. The BPR must have a person with the word Khamsin in their name on their side, and NS has to have a guy with Vampirism on their side. NS charges over the wall treating it like hindering terrian and trys to kill all the BPR off. BPR try to kill all the NS off. The army size is 350pts. Each side has to have one unique as the leader. Like say Vija of Vladd vs. Amir.
If the NS wins then you go to a dungeon game. one side has to have a BPR hero the other, an NS hero, regular game 100 points. Now here's the catch, the BPR are trying to kill all the NS people, while the NS people are looking for one chest that is the 'weapons storage'. The way u decide the weapon storage chest is you place a sticker of something on the top inside of the chest. Once this chest is found by the NS they must escape out of the dungeon and they win. The generals from the first part have to be used in the dungeon.
Good idea Drow Knight. I may use It.
Thanks for the input Nabbus, Im thinking that each item gets a 50% chance at the end of each mission to have been destroyed or otherwize made useless.
BTW after the heros level up I creat threats (missions) using this formula (point cost of all heros at one level below there current level)+ (50 x the number of heros)
NEVER! No stealing my idea. I'm just kidding of course, just give me all the credit;)
I'm glad to see someone else likes it besides me. I'm gonna try play testing it tomorrow with my cuz, should only take a few hours, I'm estamating... 5 at most.
Tottles... who says that anymore? I never said tottles, l8er.
