I just thought I'd conduct a little informal poll here to see what people are thinking about whether or not they will support the new product and why:

For my part, I'm out. I'm sure that will come as something of a relief to the sycophant squad.

Mostly I'm out because of the "new game" duplicity on the part of WizKids as a way of justifying changes that don't seem to make sense, not to mention the way the rules seem to have changed with little thought.

JMO. Post your opinion. Whatever you do, spare us the sermonizing responses to anyone else's posts, ok?

I like to play games, and I have a bunch of figs. Of course I'll play.

I don't plan on buying anything, at least not yet. If I can't trade for what I need then it means that my considerable collection isn't *really* playable with the new rules, no matter what's said. That'll be my test - I'm not going to spend any more 'keeping up with the game' if what I have now isn't worth anything. And I'll know if it's worth something if folks will trade.

BTW, I tend to look at rule changes from a higher level - don't really care about specific things if the overall system works. So I'm enthused about the changes, they look like they'll add a lot to the play (tactics) and fun of the game.

For my part, I'm IN. Ive read the rules, seen the S.A. and know that any corrections errata in the future can and will be addressed.

What we have before us (rules/S.A.)is the black and white of things.... we need the actual 2.O figs to in order to see the big picture.

I am so "IN"..... have been waiting for so many weeks now :D

2.O is shaping up to be what MK should be :D

I am definitely in; I already pre-ordered a starter and boosters. Since you decided to leave the game guacamole, I wonder what the point of your poll is. Are you having second thoughts, or are you trying to justify your decision? Just wondering. . . .

To everyone who is 'out':

Just leave... don't sit around here and complain about your pathetic life or whatever... just go. We (the people who actually enjoy :eek: the game) have had enough of your BS for the past six months. Everything from 'this game is broken, fix it' to now 'the new rules are ####' has been said by the same people in the course of weeks even... it's ridiculous. We don't want you skulking about ruining the game for us and new players, and we probably don't even like you, so no goodbyes, no 'I'm leaving' threads, just go... and don't let the door hit you on the ### on your way out.


Sorry guacamole, I had to get that out... it's certainly not directed at you, or even anyone else in particular. I for one will be sad to see you go... you actually post intelligently (for the most part). :p

Well.. I have said all along I am in.. After reading the rules and seeing the complete SAC card.. I can say that with even more confidence. I am not put off by the formation rules.. (I can still have formations of 2.0 and 1.0 figs in my army after all.. they just cant make a formation together.. no big whoop to me.) I like the changes to the special abilities.. (Especially Necromancy, unpopular as that may make me..) I Like the new soaring bases and see them as a heckuva improvement over HC 'annoyance' bases..er um Flying bases.. I especially like objectives for battles over attrition.. I find that more interesting for our groups 'rp' style of games. And most battles were fought for goals rather than attrition historically.. I think objectives is one of the 'best' things about the new system.. (I've even been working on casting up some of my own custom made objective tokens.. I have a set made for the Elf Lords so far, and am working on a Necropolis set next.)

So I dont know if I could be any more -IN- if I tried.. unless perhaps I were working for WizKids.. (which is neither an aspiration nor a desire..) Given my dissapointment in WK the company (not the product) since I started in January.. this release was, I admit, just the thing to maintain my interest during the new marketing 'glut' of figure based games.. Which likely means I am just walking willingly into their feindish plan.. but eh.. Its not the first time I've done that.. and likely wont be the last..I can live with my choice and have fun with my game.. and thats really whats important to me.
