Recently, Grathel made a rather boastful claim in a thread that he was the greatest Orc player ever. WhiteLancer made a similar claim in the same thread, calling himself the greatest Necropolis Sect player in the world. Both of the players talk to eachother regularly on AIM, and live in California, but live far enough away from eachother to make a real life game difficult to bring about. So, these two rivals have agreed to an online skirmish to decide, once and for all, who shall hold the title of The Golden State's Greatest Mage Knight Warlord.
The game will be played on a 36x36 Hex Game Area, and both players have agreed to the following terms:
1. All 90 degree arcs are reduced to 60 degrees, and all 370 degree arcs are increased to 300.
2. 2.0 Tournament Standard rules will be used.
3. Once a player's turn is posted, his opponent will have 2 days to post his.
WhiteLancer... how do Werewolves fit in with Necro? Lycanthropes and Werewolves, in most literature/fiction and so on, hate each other with a passion. Just wondering from an impartial observer. Actually, I hope you crush Grath. ;)
Well, in the Necropolis Sect fiction, it says they use Dark Magic to enslave horrific Mage Spawn. Werewolves and Vampires are rivals in evil, so it would make sense that the Sect Mages would enslave the rivals of their masters in service of the Sect as an ultimate cruelty towards them.
Page updated, now contains armies and stats for each unit. Terrain placement begins tommorow.
Well sure, but by that argument, you could use any MS and say they fit in with the NS. Would that be true? No. I mean, how would... Slag Trolls... fit in with NS? They really don't, but the NS could always be enslaving them... Your rules state:
5. Armies will be pure Faction, with Mage Spawn used as filler only if they appear to fit in with units of the player's chosen faction.
How does having a group of MS that specifically hate your faction make them 'fit in'? ;)
Thats just it, and note I said: Horrific Mage Spawn, not just regular Mage Spawn. Werewolves are pretty horrific in my book, and, as I said, Werewolves and Vampires are specific rivals, so the Sect would have a direct interest in enslaving them, to demoralize the enemy, so to speak. They have no real reason to go about specifically targetting other Mage Spawn, except perhaps the Kruggs, since their lands border the Sect lands, and of course the Skeletals and Ghosts.
If I were to change my army now, and take those 3 figures out, I guarantee you i'll have an advantage, because, if my opponent suddenly agrees with you, I plan to make him regret it with my figure choice.
