2.0 Drac Armies - Want advice or reviews? Ask the DHC
Hey everyone, welcome to the DHC's 2.0 Drac Army Review Thread. We at the DHC are constantly striving to show the world the strength and resolve of the Draconum throughout the Land. If you would like to post your 2.0 Drac army here for some advice and a review, please do so. Even if you don't have any Dracs in the army, feel free to toss it on up here and we'll check it out. I just have one more thing to say:
I was going to post this in the clan forum, but this thread could use a little bump. Anyway, here's a little army I'm gonna play for a little fun. You might like it mrdbeau:

Regal runs up to center objective(or first objective if other army is really fast) and holds it against all comers, freezing everyone.
whelpmaster takes his boys over to frozen punks/ or runs over to an objective/ or runs interferance.
so? does it suck? any helpful criticism?
thanks for looking
Not too bad looking.. I dunno for 2.0 but 1.0 it wouldn't do too well. I think for what he can do ther regal just isn't good for his points. Whelp monks are great though, 2.0 they have some real use I personally wouldn't bother with whelp master, I'd just rely on their speed (9), and have an extra one.
I dunno about that Zolgar. You obvisously haven't read to much into 2.0. Regal is a beast in 2.0, quite possible one of the best figures in the game. The speed that Whelp Master brings is definitily a necessity in the fast paced enviroment of 2.0. The army its self doesn't look that bad. With proper execution and a good domain it will work fine.

Domain: Wyldan Forest, the domain that prevents soaring, or Darkness
Terrain: 2 hindering and 2 concealing.
Alrighty Outlaw, you want the master's advice, eh? You've got it. (BTW, sorry it took me so long, busy with other things, ya know ;))
I really like Caldera and Paragon's Shield. With her already high defense of 19 bumped up to 21, you're going to have a lot of guys taking damage. Try to take out anything that your opponent might have with an 11 or more attack first, and surge her if necessary, since she keeps that nice defense for 2 clicks. With a 21 defense and nice attack, the Monks (and especially Shatter) will do a great job of mopping up any of the figures weaker pieces. Rend is just an all around great piece with a lot of versatility. I'd say keep the **Monk on your close objective. In case anything comes after him, it's no biggie, he can hold his own for 2 or 3 turns until you can get him some support. I would say bring 3 pieces of concealing and one hindering. There may be a time when you need that hindering piece, but for the most part, you're going to want to take command of the board with concealing.
I like your domain ideas. I'd take any of the domains that prevent soaring or ranged combat. The Wylden Forest may be as much of hinderence to you as your opponent, so I'm not so sure about that one.
Finally, don't be scared to let Caldera fly out on her own. While the monks benefit greatly from the defend, if you need her two, let her go solo for awhile. The Monks can handle themselves just fine.

Pretty nice looking 2.0 army. Hope you get a semi-low roll (6-8) so the Regal can jump out to the first objective first turn, but hold the whelps back. Use concealing or hindering terrain and place it between your objective and the center one. The Regal will have no problem with a +1 to your opponent's defense and the Whelps will have some cover. Shatter is absolutely awesome in 2.0. You've got a pretty good plan and I think you'll be able to go with it. Regal is still a hefty fighter even after losing flight, so don't be afraid to surge with him for 3 or 4 clicks.
For a domain, pick out something that either prevents soaring or doubletiming. Either one of those should be good picks for you. Good luck!
Yeah, after looking at the domains Grasslands is definitily going to be my domain of choice, but Wyldan will still be in my hand. If I ever need a bit of a speed boost I can always have Caldera fly on her own, not hindered. I also can place my concealing in key points for me on the board. Also, I placed 2 of each so that I can have 2 different shapes of each, giving me more versatility. Plus, in most games I will be playing one of each anyway. Hindering on my opponents side to give me cover and slow them down. Hindering just adds more flexibity than concealing.
thanks for the input fellas, i was a little worried about not haveing a healer at first, oh well, just gonna slug it out and rely on drac toughness..
as for the domains - just gonna have to wait to see what i pull
will take your advice on terrain.
