It would give Khan Rava 3 arrows with a 360 degree arc, 14 attack at range with permanent arcing fire (no real use in this example for adding arcing fire) and 18 defence. It would also only drop below 11 attack on its demo click.
it would waste his nice 3 base damage, and the 360* arc is wasted by bound (if your using bound you will always get to change facing) i think it'd be better on Nok
Interesting you should mention this combo. :) So me and another guy in the office were playing during lunch yesterday. He was fielding this combo and some other pieces (I'm thinking a couple of Orc Warbeasts, a Troll Smasher, and a Orc Hunter, might be something I'm forgetting). Anyway, I was fielding 2 tough Deathsingers, 2 Skull Golems and the big bad Solonavi, Veratrix. I was curious to see if he really was as broken as some had been saying.
So one of the first things I do is base Khan Rava with a Skull Golem and locked him up most of the game. I took out one of his Orc Warbeasts with my Deathsingers. He took out both of my Deathsingers with his Orc Warbeasts. At one point he got a series of good Thunderblow rolls and hit one deathsinger for 6 damage!
Anyway, we really wracked the damage up on one another, except for Veratrix who could not get into range of anyone. 8 inches is just short with the speeds most of the warriors can rack up. Sure he's hard to pull down out of soaring, but at half my build points, I just had a hard time covering objectives. So eventually I brought him down to the ground and had him join the fray.
Okay, then he rocked. He does a lot of damage, and only needed a 4 to hit Rava who had an 18 defense (if I remember correctly). In the long run I lost all of my warriors but him, and was able to beat Sean, but let me tell you it was close. If either of us had made some better rolls earlier in the game, it would have swung the other way.
Anyway, to get to the original point, being able to tie Rava up in close combat really hurt him. Had he been kept further out of the battle field he might have been more effective.
That's exactly why I'm not too worried about Khan Rava. Tie him down with a cheap blocker or harasser and then move a close combat figure with toughness into base with him and you've got him on the ropes. Sure, there will be other factors, but Khan Rava is very beatable.
well, you need cheap charge or surge support around Rava so he can't be based
try Rava with some Shamans for ME and keep some Tribal Brutes *** around for support, and let us know how that combo does (also, play a Domain that will stop your opponent from stopping Surge) with whatever other support you like...
I think its certainly not a bad combination you've come up with, like Klaw said you'll certainly need support but all armies will generally be built around one powerhouse and the rest support. I know if I pulled Khan Rava and the Heartseeker in a booster draft I'd certainly play it. However my favorite combo so far is Varatrix and Paragons Shield.
