This is an army that can kill pretty much and army. The goal is to kill them before time runs out.
Kossak Darkbringer With Galeshi SunSword (133 total)
***Vampiric archer
And Either "Mountain Pass" or "Rain and Mud" as a domain. That way no one can Surge or shoot my Kossak. And as long as I keep him soaring, only flying figures can base him. And there is only two other Flying charging figures, The ** or *** Vamprirc Archer, anf the rock griffen, I think. Oh, and the ***VA is there to shoot people and get annoying. Tell me what you think.
It would work in the old mage knight...... but with the new objectives.......can your skeleton hold out?
Your skeleton gets crushed and now you have 1 fig to hold 2 out of the 3 tokens.......notice the math problem???
:)
No, I'm not planning on letting the opponent live to the end of the match if you catch my drift. I plan on killing them soon, and Kossak Is just the man for the job!
No offense, but this is a terrible army considering 2.0 objectives. Your archer is irrelevant. Your opponent will have 300 pts of guys that will take him down. Also, your opponent will have 300 pts to take Kossak down. I'd like to see Kossak charge one of my *** Ub Kahns, because the following turn i'd charge him with 3 others ... check that... 2 others to kill him with their crushing blow + reckless.
Regardless of the killing, Kossak can only move 8 inches. There are 3 objectives. Most armies will have mounted figures or figures with decent enough speed that they will simply stay out of his 8 inch arch. You move Kossak 8, i move 8 inches away. Repeat for 45 minutes, probably killing your archer sometime in that time. 5 minutes left, you have 1 figure, i have probably 6 minimum. I wonder who will get the most objectives?
It MIGHT work in an all-2.0 game. Watch out for "Open Terrain" or you're screwed.
But if you mix 1.0: How do you deal with many, many figures like a bunch of Goblin Volunteers? What about captures by high-attack, low-point figures?
And all your combo does is guarantee first strike; what if you miss or "anger" a figure (i.e. knock an Orc or Drac to his Berserk clicks)? Or there are others? You attack my Mancatcher/WHK/Blade Golem with Kossak. I send 3-4 more to surround him. Then you either have to push to escape or risk being captured (need a 20 - not THAT hard, especially with Hex and the like floating around) next turn.
I have to agree with the others (although it would be a fun army) that it would not hold up to any decently made army. a couple of mounts, and the game is over - they can avoid you the whole game and never get attacked with ease while keeping control of more objectives than you will be able to cover. If you get swarmed you will be in deep doo-doo if they have even moderate attack values with figs such as Ironclads, *** Ub-Khans...even Elf at Arms.
If somebody plays a 50 Goblin Volunteer army...(not likely, but possible) you would never ever be able to kill 1 Goblin a minute for the whole match, and they would easily control 2 objectives to your 1 just by sheer numbers.
I don't mean to rain on your parade. I like the army, and it could be fun to play (even considered something similar myself), but there are a lot of things you must consider if you want to be competitive. Sometimes it is fun to play a fun army though.
