Rather than posting an army of elf at arms or even enhanced scorpem gunners, players are beginning to post Magic the Gathering style combos to exploit relics and SA's.
One example:
Barrel posted an army utilizing Karrudan's Bow, range limiting domains, revenant subfaction ability, and a pair of inexpensive LE's capable of wielding the bow. ~ 150 points.
If an LE is killed, 4 dmg to everyone in a 24" diameter. The 2nd LE attempts to pick up the relic and set up another "mage bomb."
Use revenant to "rinse and repeat."
-----------------
I've seen a few other mtg style combos being posted as well. Kudos to the creators for their creativity.
What does everyone think of this interesting new twist in army building?
12" radius is a 24" Diameter. yes that is how it works.
thanks Isabee for bringing it up. If the army did not have to have Trix it could have been a whoel lot worse.
personaly I like the way the game is going. Still a lot of in game tactics along with a bunch of pregame strategy. The thing that makes me smile about the bow bomb is that it uses domains ina totlay different way then one would expect. this is just scratching the surface.
I have read a good amount of posts about relic unique combos but most have been fairly surface type things. Wait in a few weeks there are gong to be some real fun things popping up. I know I am going to keep working on them
I was thinking of using karrudan's bow to blow stuff up like that with a lot of cheap LEs. I didn't think of using the revenant ability though. I'll have to try that.
Now I know what you will be using against the field at the tournament in Lacey, WA. Thanks for the informantion!&! What?.......oh...sealed booster, I forgot. Anywho, best of luck on the 22nd. (I will be wearing a black outfit and carrying a scythe, and I prefer to stand in the shadows.) :) :) :)
Gamers:
I too wonder what "trix" we will be encountering during the coming months. It ought to be most interesting!&! What an understatement. Also, it is nice to see that everyone has not left the game for "greener pastures", as the Sky IS Falling Brigade predicted.
