What you do is buy a set number of boosters from the set that the venue says. Say MK 2.0. You buy 3 boosters (at my venue at least) open them, make an army and play. It's pretty fair unless someone pulls an amazing figure and you pull all nons that suck. They are a lot of fun though.

a sealed box tourney is where you get X # of booster(mainly 3) or a starter or booster, crack them open and make a army with the figures in those boosters/starter

Oh, I see. How much is the entrance fee usually? The price of 3 boosters? Or is it more?

most of the time though venues will place boosters on sale for touny players, well, at least where im from.

If I remember correctly, when a Marquee/Sealed Booster event was being held after the release of a new base set that you would have to buy a Starter for the game, and usually an extra booster or two. This means everyone gets a set of tokens, tape measures, objectives, figures and rules to use for the game.

Anyway, I would try and get a Starter for a Sealed event since they guarantee a relic and domain and unique.
