I'm sorry, but there is really no viable way to use Donnie in an army that's less then 500pts. Maybe you can squeeze him in a 400pt army, but to be effective Donnie needs two things:
1) Some massive (atleast 80pt) MS for him to Summon.
2) A sizeable force to keep your two figures (which are about 300pts by themselves) from getting swarmed.
If the army doesn't meet these two requirements, you really are just wasting points on Donnie.
In your army, you could just drop Donnie for a Crusader Priest or Enhancer Nim and fill in the other 150+ points with more MS or other support figures.
Sure Donnie can shoot things, and shure Donnie is scarey to go up against, but he is still at heart a Support piece. He can't handle a straight up fight against his point value in figures, he needs his support. And in such a small format, you just can't fit good enough support into the army to assist him, and take advantage of his abilities.
i agree, i have a deathspeaker, it isn't worth running in a small point army, he needs a relic and support to make him delicious, in an 800 point army he is very powerful, him with trixy or kossak, along with some othe revenants and mage spawn. some good mage spawn to run with him are
mummy
wind mnion
wraith
but this army couldn't work due to his point cost
by the way, he is 213 points not 214
I see what your saying but... I have won my last 5 battles with that set up and one guys is ranked in the top ten on mech warrior :P so you tell me it works. If they base break away and umm... you can rev while in base so yea and use his hex I would not be scared to play this army vs 3 trixes I am dead serious.
and its 3 * werewolfs
and 2 * skellies dont know were that first set up came from so....    299 points its good Ill use it. If you like most the time you can win if you don't like your set up then your set up for failure
Werewolves are great in 2.0... but in this particular army.... the problem is that if your opponent is using Revanent. Mainly because they can use it.... use Surge and take full advantage of the figure. Werebears and the LE Werewolf (Zatagra) are great counter-measures. Might I add that Zatagra would do good in this army. On his 3rd slot.... he gets a 12 attack with WM which is always nice.
yea it would be but if they have a revent army just go after there guys with it then kill there units but... thats not the point to the game its to hold the capture spots.

real positive reply maelwyn, Im sure that REALLY helped him out.
I find Aeradon is very useable in a 300 pt. format. Its hard, but hes very potent. I dont see alot wrong with this army. It has its weaknesses, but I'd really like to see an army that doesnt.
lol thanks maelwyn your a stalker that ill just report you. and well no dont be scared to push the figures in that army lol so whats your 300 points Maelwyn and ill show you how i beat it :P

I think I can understand most or at least some this thread.
First of all, how could you possibly believe you can defeat a Trix army with that? Let alone 3 in a row or any soaring army for that matter. Maybe if the Trix figure fell over, rolled off the table and was stepped on, you would win.
Yes, I know. There are lots of ways to beat Trix, but how would you stop Trix (or Vamp Archers) from just flying around and p**ping on your head like a bird. Don't say you would use a Domain because you can only use Clear Skies once.
Deathspeaker is not that fast and he would become the primary target. He can be shot from the air, rammed, venomed, pole armed and shaken off. Terrify is only an inconvenience and not that hard to get around. Never count on it and NEVER base a strategy on your figure breaking on 4+, it is suicide. Also, in this army if you Hex you are only setting your self up for a pushing click when forced to take your next action (and a good player WOULD force you to take that action). You say you like to push, but pushing would be fatal for deathspeaker in this army. Remember you have no healing in this army.
Maelwyn may have been a bit crass, but he was right. This army is asking to be owned.
Listen to what was said before, Deathspeaker is only good in large 400+ armies.
Honestly, I would like to know what the 5 armies were that you beat in a row. No slam intended, but they could not have been that good.
And slow down when you type.
Stormgald, why not take out Deathspeaker, put in 2 Crusader Priests *** and some Throttle Worms and Stalking Skellies and Shades?? You can still bring back the MS like with Deathspeaker, but you can pack more in, and some harrassers...
and by the way, your army could NOT beat a half-decently played Varatrix army...or even a half-decent Summon/MS army - in fact, I wonder how that army could ever win a single game!?!? not trying ot flame, I'm just being honest, you have very few pieces, Deathspeaker is ultra-vulnerable, and any sawrm would do it in in a heartbeat!
i tride somthing like that, sub WereWolfs with zombie centaurs.
I lost EVERY game, I know the were wolfs are better, but on thing is a big prblem, the amount of anti :wand: is rediculious, if you come up against it your big fattie does nothing
