Now that I have played with all the big guys (all except for Deathspeaker). I'm looking at the rest of my uniques for some new armies. So I'm putting together an Anunub BOL army. Here it is:

Anunub w/ BOL
Zeph Wyndfenner
Crystal Protector **
Imp ***
Nightstalker * X3
War Hatchetkrug *

Domains:
Open Terrain
Smoke and Fog
Downpour

300 on the nose!

Now we all know the basic stratagies here. Hide Anunub behind the CP so he won’t get shot and use Zeph for his leadership SA so Anunub can get more shots off. The Imp is a great filler piece and great to grab those pesky tokens. War Hatchetkrugg 20 inch ram, I need that around here with all the Shield Golems that seem to show up in everyone's armies. As for the formation of Nightstalkers . . . I guess just personal preference (22 points with: stealth, a 10 attack, and a range attack that deals 3), they just seem to be a good cheap pieces.


As for my domain selections:

Open Terrain to get rid of Mountian Pass (if I guess right).
Smoke and Fog is to hold off long range armies.
Downpour is to slow down fast armies so Anunub can get shots off.

Not 20 inch Ram. You turn off move SA's when doubletiming.

I think Grasslands might be a good choice to hide your nightstalkers, while your BOL will still hit the enemy stealth figs.

Why are you afraid of Mountain Pass? Yes it hurts the WHK but it protects Annanub. I would worry about Blasted Lands more. Fen Swamp, River Valley, and Wilden Forest slow down the enemy, and keeps all your figures on the first click.

Not many weaknesses there. How to improve it? Well, you could probably put a more solid warrior or two in for those Nightstalkers, but from what I gather from your army is you want to take your opponent down quick, which Nightstalkers are good at as long as they aren't hit.

ArmyC: Thanks for pointing out the error I had with the War Hatchetkrug. Also, thanks for the tips on the domains. I have played Grasslands with my Drakor/Whelp Monk army and it worked quite effectively. So I got rid of Open Terrain in favor of the Grasslands. I think the Fen Swamp and River Valley are going to be played, but I would like more of a ranged army to go with it (not just Anunub).

I could put in one, maybe two better pieces to replace the Nightstalkers. But, I like to have a couple pieces that I'm willing to sacrifice. These guys hit hard and if I lose a couple they softened up my opponent for the rest of my army, and if they make it to the healer the low AC help the CP heal them.

Well I was thinking about it, but who knows what will be coming with me.

A weakness I notice is that you should find a couple solid fighters because if someone uses Trix or another LI/GF figure with some punch.... you could be in trouble.

He used it in the tourney today, the BOL's continues fire is a real pain. I see MI and LI/Ghostform warriors as the only problem he would really face...

how about switching your 2 Nightstalkers, and *** Imp for a Wraith, and a ** Imp? you got less fighters, but unlike the Stalkers, teh Wratih can take one or 2 Ram damages...

strormrider99 - With the small amount of players around here, I have only seen one Varatrix and he was on my side of the field. LI/GF and Magic Immunity are the ways to beat this army, I do relized this. DracKnight did play a Revenant Draconum against me on Saturday and the Nightstalkers knocked the Draconum (with the help of the WHK) out of MI so Anunub could smack him around.

Olan - I would consider putting in the Wraith, but unfortunately I do not own one. So that puts a kink into that.

You need something that can attack close-up while soaring. My personal favorite is the **Rock Griffen. Just in case you have to deal with Varatrix. I'll have to go pick up Anunub at my card store now, I have a BOL....
