Well Wizkids has officially stated that teh newer players gave them overwhelming feedback which motivated their decision to start rotating blocks.
Like most Veterans out here, I'm a bit angry about this decision, so I wonder, why the heck did Wizkids decided to ignore their existing fanbase and implement such a stupid idea? Then it dawned to me:
VETERAN PLAYERS WERE NOT VOCAL ENOUGH.
Simply put, Wizkids took those decisions because they got feedback from the newer players, and none from us veterans...
Well it's about time this trend changed. I'm personally going to email Wizkids my displeasure as long as it will take to make them change their minds. Now, I don't quite expect WK to listen to a single player, but my bet is that if they have hundreds of negative emails regarding this matter every day, they will eventually bend...
So please join me, emails WK at any of the following addresses :
Last time I mailed opsupport, I got an automated reply two months earlier. I suspect that WK has set up a mail processor that simply pipes the email of "known dissidents" to /dev/null.
After all, if you don't see the complaints, there is no problem, right?
@garou: Voting with our wallets will only put them out of business and devalue our collections even more. Do not stop buying product, just buy less. They will get the message if their sales drop by 25 or even 10 percent, but any more than that and it's R.I.P. Wizkids.
No, I don't think that they will get the message if sales drop 10%. Remember, this is the same company that thought fewer events was a good thing since that meant there just had to be more players per event. Yarite.
Vote with your wallets - buy $30 or $40 of DDMG, Warmachine, etc - and send the UPCs to WK. :p
No, I do think the vetaran players were very vocal... Have you seen how many threads there were talking about what Wizkids should do to change? I guess that they got mail and such from the new players.
i would email them... seriously... but as much as people like to ignore me here... who says that WK would pay any mind to me????
[yes, i am a vet....]
even so... i hate WK's past decisions as much as the next veteran... but WK won't do a thing about it... it truly seems to me like they're only in it for the money... they don't really care too much on what their true players want... the players that have been here since around the start... and that's what does anger me... is the fact that they kill their game over money... and what THEY THINK is best for Mage Knight, which really, chances are, is NOT the best idea...
I think I'd sooner expect Bill Gates to read my email than anyone at WK. I have had the same response rate (or less - like not at all) as others have. Any other ideas for communicating with them? Somke signal? Carrier pidgeon?
I do live nearby, maybe I should take a drive 3 hours and say hi. I can imagine being escorted from the building by security before even opening my mouth...
Some think Veteran players were not vocal enough...
when anytime we open our mouths here, we are told to stop being negative...
and when we say something to Wizkids, we get ignored.
If anyone has any factual idea on what would work, I'm all for it- but we have been trying to get through to Wizkids as long as I can remember, and we have yet to recive a "yes, we care, and this proves it".
What makes you [anyone] think they will miraculously start listening now?
This whole "The Majority of Players / Customers / Envoys is so transparent to be laughable...
Follow the bouncing Cliky Base to see what I mean
Way back when WK was releasing Expansion after Expansion for all there systems at a rapid pace -
The Majority of People said this was a bad idea and would hurt all the lines as players would have to choose which game they wanted to support the most, since it was impossible to support more than 1 game with all the expansions coming out.
Wizkids stated - The player base was growing so fast, support for these games wasn't going to be a problem - They heard from the Majority of players that more expansions was a good thing.
The Result: Players picked 1 game system to support, causing a loss of players for MK.
When WizKids changed the Approved Play System - Cutting out the Campaigns and the number of Sanctioned Events and Envoy Rewards.
The Majority of Envoys and Players told them this would kill small venues and cause Envoys to quit and player bases to shrink at many locations.
Wizkids Stated: The Majority of Envoys wanted this kind of system and less events would mean MORE PLAYERS.
The Result - The Majority of Envoys quit and small venues took it on the chin.
WizKids makes a complete debacle of Wizard World MW Championships
The Majority of people say it was a mess plain and simple
Wizkids States - The Majority of Players had a great time and hardly any complaints were heard. They declare it a 'Smashing Success' (I had to put this one in for Garou)
The Result: More Envoys leave or are Punted for speaking out on this mess, and the Majority of Players wonder if it's worth going to A WizKids National Event.
Before MK 2.0 is announced the Majority of Envoys and Players offer suggestions on how to fix Mage Knight.
WizKids States: There is nothing wrong with MK - The Expansions are selling out in record time. Obviously the Majority of Players are happy with how Mage Knight is being promoted and played
The Result - When MK 2.0 is released, one of the reasons WizKids gave for many of the compatiblity issues between 1.0 and the 'New Game' is the Majority of People weren't buying MK 1.0 boosters.
Mage Knight 2.0 is released and the Majority of players say they are unhappy with how there old figures aren't playable in the New Game
WizKids States - The Majority of Players wanted these changes and this would insure a long life for Mage Knight
The Result - The Majority of players don't buy into the New System or Mage Knight 2.0 is selling as well as the latter MK 1.0 sets.
Now we find out that WizKids says the Majority of New Players want 1.0 figures to be banned.
What I want to know is - Who or What is this shrinking Majority that seems to want all these things. It seems that WizKids has gone against the Majority's Wishs time and again and has been proven wrong. Each time they claim to be doing what the Majority wants - the Majortiy of Players / Evoys / Customers gets smaller
I'm beginning to wonder if this 'Majority' WizKids keeps talking about is really the Majority of people in the WizKids breakroom at lunch hour.
I would Wake up, b ut i know wizkids doesnt listne., There an uncaring company who i would love to go over and slap, but i cant. So i accept thier decisions and hope the company doesnt fold and MK stops being made.

Thanks for the mention, but those were the actual words of James Carrott, aka Magister (if memory serves - as I no longer have access to that forum). And yes, I was one of the ones canned for speaking out against it - and for trying to get them to listen. Heck, I had (and still have) some decent proof that they do not listen.
In my opinion, the "majority of players/venues/envoys" is actually the opinions of three or four staffers who are so out of touch with the WK gaming scene (at the local and national levels) that they honestly would believe that an event which spawns dozens of "Event sucked, had fun anyway" threads was a "smashing success".
Frankly, I have difficulty believing that there's anyone here on Realms who does accept these wildly imaginative statements. Don't think for a second wuzkiddies will listen; it's not in their business plan.
So, don't listen to them. Just continue to use and enjoy the figs you paid for.
