Well, I haven't played MK for a while now and my previous battles have been close and half have ended in a loss for me. With the help of DracKnight, I made an army with Vithzerai which helped me out greatly. I would like to know what everyone here thinks of it.


Vithzerai -214 pts

Thrush Lv.3 -42 pts.

* demolishing ape -20 pts.

* phooka -18 pts.

* imp -5pts.

yes with the new rules this army may not work for tournaments but for non-tournament battles, it is use fulll.

my strategy.

Thrush and the phooka are in base contact with each other and Vithzerai sits behind them. Thrush will not be as likely to be targetted at a range due to Magic Retalliation and the phooka has LI. They also both enhance Vithzerai so when I need to strike, I bound in front of them and blast away. The demolishing ape gets in the way of other ranged beats with dodge and the imp goes and ties up a a formation once it has been toasted.

this army is for 300 pts.

would this do fairly well?

Well this army would not bode well against a kossak darkbringer army. With Kossak's magic immunity, Kossak could kill vithzerai. Veratrix would also tear through this army.

I faced a Vithzerai headed army this weekend and flat stomped it with Varatrix wielding Crystal Reaver. Soaring with Ghostform is just too sweet. :p

IF YOU FACE AN OPPONENT THAT IS OFFENSIVE OR DOESNT HAVE MAGIC IMMUNE, GO FOR IT!
BUT...............................................

I'm sorry, vithzeri is good, BUT if your opponent runs ONE magic immune figure with even semi decent stats it's over. Iv'e played 2 armys with the same tactics(with different people, duh) and my *dwarven axe men took most, while my blackthorn finished the big V.

Umm.. I've beaten Magic Immune and Varatrix's with a Vithzerai... its all strategic placement. He soars, you don't. Kill off his support... when he bases you.. push to smack him for 5 clicks.. He then becomes your *****. Just NEVER let a piece get the first hit on you and you'll be ok.

You can't range attack Immune pieces, but you can close combat the #### out of them! :)
