DISCLAIMER: I do not intend to win Nationals, or any other major competition with this army. I don't want people saying KaBoom, 'Trix, BoL, etc. can kill. I already know that. It an army for new players that don't have a lot of money, or people who just want to have fun with an army. Trust me it is pretty fun when whoop somebody's $100+ army with an army that cost you under $10.
Now with that out of the way, here's the army:
Formation:
High Elven Archer*- 26pts.
Master Archer*- 31pts.
x3 Master Archer***- 47pts. each
Formation:
x4 High Elven Warriors*- 16pts. each
War Priestess**- 37pts.
---------------------------------------------
299pts.
Terrain-
x2 Deep Water, x1 Hindering, x1 Blocking
Domains-
Clear Skies(optional):
Centers mainly around my archers, so a Storm Gale, Smoke and Fog, or Darkness could really hurt. It might not be necessary, however. I don't think many people will waste one of their better domains against this army. I guarantee you that half the people I faced will use our match up as their one domainless round. I know I would. Another downside is that this domain is worth more than any one figure in the army. You can use Downpour in its place.
Wyldann Forest:
I have the Pathfinder, so why not use it? It slows down my opponent, which enables me to have more time to pick them off with my archers. I use use this domain, I'd probably move the Priestess in formation with the archers instead of the warriors.
Rain and Mud:
The perfect domain for this army IMHO. I'm not going to be doing any surging, and none of my warriors move faster than 8.
Pretty simple to use, really. The Warriors are a meat wall, and the archers shoot over them. The three Master Archers*** pack 12" range, 3 range damage, two targets, arching fire for 6 or 7 clicks, and a good attack their whole lives, so they can potentially dish out a quite a bit of damage. The whole formation can optitumally have a 12 attack for 6 damage, or a 13 attack for 5. With deap dials, the High Elven Warriors provide one of the better meat shields, only better are the Orc Mauraders**. They might be able to provide a bit of melee support, but they wouldn't take out anything big. The War Priestess provides a BoL proof Magic Healer with a good attack, and some Pathfinder spliced in. She basically drifts where ever she is needed, either with the Warriors or the Archers.
Oh, and just so you know, you can buy this army at gatheringground.com for $9.21!
Some suggestions could be used, but remember to keep it Elven Lord pure and as cheap as possible. No uniques or LEs(though a Zeph would go pretty good with the army).
I thought I said that it didn't include the domains. Anyway, Clear Skies on gatheringground.com Clear Skies is $2.99, Wyldann Forest $0.49, and Rain and Mud is $1.99. So with domains it is an under $15 army.
