It all depends on the "type I" market, if unrestricted becomes a big thing (or at least played regularly) prices will drop but not signifigantly, if they eliminate unrestricted all together pieces become good stock for modding other figures :D
I think unrestricted will become a staple at venues. If you sell MK singles as a store owner you would be stupid not to push the format. Why create inventory you couldn't sell? If WK pulls out of unrestricted they risk burning their vendors.
I also think the large scale combat rules (when they come out) will encourage unrestricted play.
What this means is that some figures will be worth more $$ in the restricted market and then will drop away if they do not work well in the unrestricted market. Some figures will just be plan good and will only drop a little when moved to unrestricted only. The same thing happens with type 2 to extended and extended and beyond in MTG. Also every venue I play at still has MTG type 1 or 1.5 tournies regularly to keep selling old cards and to keep customers happy.
