Alright, so I played '1.0' for a while back in freshman year of highschool (2 years ago) and I came back to playing because me younger brother started...I find rules have changed quite a bit and I dont know nearly as much as I used to.
Here's my first 2.0 army after.
3 x Zombie Centuar ***- 96
2 x Vampire Archer **- 82
1 x Deathsinger **- 29
2 x Dark Crusader ***- 50
1 x Rage Paladin **- 40
----------------------------------
Total: 297 points
I'm thinking im going to use forest terrain for the Vampire Archer/ Deathsinger formation, as they will have Pathfinder + Stealth ability. Centuars as first-hit people, double timing it to objectives and whatnot. Dark Crusader plus Paladin formation...pally surges as he has vampirism, and the others use their venom and whatnot.
Help me out with terrain cards or w/e they are called and strategies for 2.0. Im really new to this, and I'm thinking im going to the National Qualifiers next weekend.
The only 2.0 uniques I have are:
2 Karrow Nightbringer (? think thats the name)
1 Master Cyrus
The first army has potential. THe second one would be just plain fun to play, but won't win you much :).
I would move the Deathsinger into formation with something else so that the archers can take wing and fly over the oppoition, raining down arrows. If you play a forested domain, stick her with the Centaur so that they can move through the woods easily (especially since the Archers can just fly above the woods).
You have a lot of Deathspeakers in the army. That's a hefty price to add to a figure, and you don't need 3 of them. I would drop the third formation entirely, and toss in another few Centaurs. Maybe keep one of the Dark Crusaders, and drop the Rage and the other one for Centaur. You really do't need multiple Revenanters, and the Venom won't be too helpful.
As for Nationals, I wouldn't worry too much about specific strategies since it is a Booster Draft, and nobody will have any prearranged plans for the game. Just familiarize yourself with the all the units in the game, and pay attention to every move of your opponent and what they are fielding. The most dangerouse thing I can see happening would be someone pulling a fatty unique, and a killer relic to stick on it.
This is working with figures that I have. Once I get more of the Centuars I'll be using more.
As for the 'Blood on the Water' tourney coming up, I have alot of 1.0 figures that could be good in here too. I have pretty much all of the key uniques from Rebellion, a few crappy LE's from Lancers, and 3 EGM's from Whirlwind.
I'm trying to bid on some good Orc figures on ebay but the shipping and handling is ridiculous for just a few figures.
What if I made an army with a figure with leadership for Kossak, and a couple Rev. figures? Kossak could attack every turn if hes within the leadership figure, and I could rev. up some support.
