Tactics and Secrets Across her incarnations, the Snow Maiden’s consistent bow attack type makes her an excellent complement to the sword-wielding Snow Centaur. The Weak Temple Masters version has Stealth to help her get into a defendable position. If standing still isn’t your style, this (and other) version can be pushed to gain Bound.
The first Standard version sports Ghostform for defense, with Bound starting on her second click. In addition, she comes with a +1 attack bonus, two attacks, and a 135º arc. The second Standard version also has Bound, and she adds Pathfinder. Though this version has only one attack, she has a ranged damage value of 3, which is more likely to be delivered to your target with her +1 attack bonus.
The Tough Snow Maiden is for players who can’t decide between melee and ranged combat. Her respectable starting 9 attack and 2 damage make her a good candidate for close combat. Or, after she takes some damage, pull her back and let her Ghostform, +2 attack bonus, and 135º arc go to work on up to two targets.
Design Notes Originally, the Snow Maiden was intended to be a melee specialist. When she showed up with throwing knives instead of a sword, it seemed that the centaur roles had been switched. Being able to assign attack types and bonuses, however, allows us to adapt our designs easily, and we ended up with a centaur with a kick at just about every rank.
