WizKids just made Spirit Armor worthless. You know have 78 points tied up in one figure in which you get to chase down your opponent and watch him break away. I'm not saying that's not useful, but if WK is going to change the relic, then they should at least reduce the point costs of the relic.
On the other hand, I'm happy that I can now play with figures that cost more than 100 points.

Spirit Armor is by far not worthless. Put if on a figure like Kieren, Gate Knight, Vale, or High Elven Knight and watch as they themselves become monsters and so do all their EL buddies. Don't foget, all of your EL pieces get +2 range, and +1 damage/ranged damage Which is a good enough reason for the opponent to track down the armor holder to get those bonuses done.
Hey wolfman, don't forget about the rest of Spirt Armor's effects.

All friendly figures with range values greater than 0 get +2 to their range values. All friendly ELVEN LORDS figures get +1 to their damage and ranged damage values.
This makes the *** High Elven Archer a monster, they gain a 16" range and 3 ranged dmg.....not to mention comboed with Khan Rava you get an effective 24" range with 4 pierceing ranged dmg.
Spirit armor is faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from nerfed. Now, when someone sticks Varatrix onto the battlefield with hisspiffy relic and items, you can equip one of the Elven Lords figs with it and when 'trixie comes calling, you then have an effective counter for him........imagine if someone plays Vextha and you have 'Kieran plus the Armor? It still does a number for Kieran plus helping all your Elven Lords figs.
Actually it can also help your other figs as well. I think it's a quite good relic.... now if we can get them to add that proviso to Karrudans Bow it would be even groovier.
And then your Zeph gets captured, and then elminated the next turn, effectively nullifying the Spirit Armor (Captured figures may not use their Relics or items while they are captive). No, now Spirit Armors whamm-o effect is only a precaution, the real power of it lies in the bonuses it gives other figures.
I don't see a problem with playing Spirit armor on Lady Gilista while riding the EL cloud griffon.....both have counter attack and you can still fit in 3 *** High elven archers and then some ground pounders.
Are you guys serious? Spirit armor is 1/2 as powerful now.
[DemonCommand] "Spirit Armor was not weakened really, just made better."
It was clearly WAY too powerful for conquest. But it is laughable to say spirit armor was not weakened. Is it more effective now? Nope, it is less useful than last week. If your point is that the playing environment is more balanced that is one thing, but to say the relic is better. Not even I can swallow that bitter logic. ;)

I don't think that will work as well, indeed that would really be "nerfing" Karrudan's Bow. Spirit Armor is a threat as long as the figure wielding it survives (demoralized or not). +2" to all your ranges, in addition to +1 damage and ranged damage to your Elven Lords figures is quite useful.
On the other hand, a demoralized figure with Karrudan's Bow is not really a threat. Karrudan's Bow only ability (outside of the death ability) is only useful when the figure can attack. Why kill such a figure when you can just demoralize it (or weaken it severly if it doesn't have any Demoralized slots)? It will never use the ability unless something unexpected happens (critical hit at the wrong time).

actually they should have just raised the cost of the relic and left it the way it was.... oh well... fatties once more reign supreme against swarm armies....and no... the EL doesn't get any modifiers to attack... all that damage and range and they can't hit...pretty pathetic... even if I band up to raise gang-up and range combat modifiers for a better chance to hit, I only leave myself open for a nice beating from the multitude of smite SA capable units and swarm decimation relics...

again I reiterate that the damage and range modifiers (not bonuses ;)) are nice yet its like having a cannon in front of a wall but poor lil timmy isn't strong enough to tilt the cannon. the only fair units with a decent attack value are the 41 pt snow maidens and centaurs.... this isn't a swarm...it's a middle class swarm... The wielders don't become "monsters" ....eesh far from it. the "monsters" like general vale and gate knight fair better with other relics than parking their fanny with this relic.... sure you might "attract" the opposing layer but he will never kill any of these "monsters" vale is the only one that maybe a threat...because in order to capture succussfully it at least requires a hit or two to drop their defense value down...vale is different... the rest? "uh capt. I have a mr. keiran here... and this weird armor...." "remove the armor and kill him sgt......"

uhuh........the *** high elven archer is nice indeed ..now if he can only over come his measly 8 attack.....and actually HIT. I've said it before in a heavy debate about khamsin crown vs. spirit armor...i'd give up the +2 to range just for the +1 to attack anyday...
Now Rava is indeed a great support piece to go with this relic.

heads up... I played against Varatrix with scorch hammer...know how I managed to win that one?.... I used a * and ** sunleopard and shockwaved zephy and dbl time my EL spirited man into base contact with varatrix and was promptly killed by his scorch hammer thus killed varatrix....
I played that same army a few hours later.... Varatrix dropped the relic and then killed zephy...(seeing that the player wised up ;))
I tried other builds that were more pure EL and got slaughtered, my only threatening army build was using the ** EL centuars with ram and WM... but then the +1 to damage is counter productive to using WM anyways....eesh.
I played vextha the next day with general vale and vextha promptly captured vale and slaughtered every friggin EL combination I had.... I tried to stay alive by simply playing chicken and running all over the board.... the friggin unit heals everytime he hits and his defense is nothing to smile at when using piddly 8 to 11 attack EL units and Uniques... yeah.... fatties you best fear the spirit armor... may you tremble and shake in your boots in mock fear before you decimate a EL swarm of low attack units... but they really look cute with all that damage though don't they?

It wasn't nerfed, I'm convinced it was made to reflect the original intention. It was never ment to be suicided...
and..............K-bow was????

It now forces you to play an all Elven Lord army.
no, it forces me to play something else.... hands down a khamsin crown army will beat the living tar out of an EL army...hands down I will have a very hard time consistantly trying to hit a defense of 17 up... you just don't play competitive tourneys hoping to hit on an 8 or up regardless how much damage you are packing....

this is the best use I've seen regarding spirit armor... put it one a unit that can soar with a mount... prevents overwhelm tactics and shooting the horse out from underneath.... if I ever used spirit armor, this is the way I'd go...even with herald calianthia spirit armor is fair... she's only a support piece but your opposing unit will rapidly get ticked at you dbl-timing his support pieces all over the board via Magic confusion....

I like the change. Spirit Armor was not weakened really, just made better so that abuse would not screw up the game.
you mean MK 2.0 was made easier to play... you still have high defense fatties and massive damage relics to contend with as well as Mask of mysteries and submerged units....taking away the spirit armor self kill factor only takes away the intention to remove bigger units for the survival of EL swarm but that was whined into historybooks and I shall now have to roll with the punches and deal with it. Mind you young padawan....;) MK 2.0 is in no way reduced by it's abuse.... ask Python... he'll agree with me.. MK 2.0 is King of abusive combos.
Know that I am not here to flame or insult or piss anyone off... I'm speaking my mind and I'm definitely not happy with the errata...did it need one? yes...but not this...
