Well all, you're probably wondering about this title, so to explain, straight to the armies.


"Turkey Hunting with Rava"
well obviously Rava is:

Khan Rava 91
* Blood Shaman 34

now Rava needs a shotgun to turkey hunt, so what better than a mini "orc shootgun" of

2 * Orc Violators 62
*** Dark Crusader 29

now all that's needed is some turkeys, so

* Eagle Shaman 36

Desert Warbird 47 (OK)

Well for turkey hunting strategy, Rava does what he does best. He bounds around, and for a little protection, he can be kept behind the sideways Warbird. The Eagle Shaman provides a nice bodyguard, in my opinion better than an Ub-Khan and 2 Marauders, with an easy 5 damage with impale and thunderblow. The "orc shootgun" is the secondary threat with the Violators smiting and recklessing themselves to death only to be brought back time and again by revenant. And finally the Blood Shaman provides healing.

"Deer Hunting with Scorch"

Scorch 66
/on/ Horned Stag (EF) 47 (the DC Salamander and EL Battle Horse are also nice options, but deer hunting after all)
*** Ub-Khan 59
* Blood Shaman 34
2 * Orc Violators 62
*** Dark Crusader 29

Pretty much the same strategy, just more focus on the "orc shootgun" with scorch providing a shorter bound.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Im lost, how r 2 violators a shotgun?

Well Amazon12345, the whole shotgun idea was started here, but basicly since reckless and smite pushing damage can eliminate the violators before they are removed from the game, they can be brought back turn after turn via revenant.

Turkey Hunting: Code of the Raiders, Clear Skies, Rain and Mud
Deer Hunting: Smoke and Fog, Clear Skies, Rain and Mud
and the Harrowblade one: Darkness, Downpour, Open Terrain

I was told by my judge that it would be removed anyway...

I don't remember how long ago that was so could one of you guys tell me where to find the ruling?

with reckless you can't go to a demoralized or a death click... how would smite let you kill off your figure in one attack using reckless.. the * violators have a demo click..

When you Reckless, you can't GO PAST the demoralized click. You can Reckless the Violator's down to their demoralized click, and then if you declared Smite as part of the attack, they will take the pushing click at the end and die. Its a somewhat clever trick, but I, for one, am not convinced that the Orc Shotgun is that good an army (in any form), and when you run the "Shotgun" with a Revenant fig (and not Syden/Bonestaff), you rely on your opponents getting close enough for you to rev the Violator into base. If you surge with the violator, you lose Smite and the ability to eliminate the Orc on that turn. (Well, I can think of a few ways that you can finish him off on your turn, but I let everyone else figure those out. :) )
