this gives me a little bit of everything that seems formiddable at the moment...MC/C....MB.....high damage from ragehammer and karudans bow..... a possible double MC/C in one turn from 12" away
let me know what you think would be good domains and what would be it's greatest weakness'..thanks
Weaknesses from what I can see
- Downpour stops soaring and lowers speed
- Skittish mount that soars with main melee attacker on it.
- no revant (love it or hate it, but its needed)
- small figure total
- BoL/SM, even without leadership still causes problems
- No harrasers
- Sweep/Smite
- relativly low defenses
- To many themes crammed into one
K-bow is a little much and can have its points directed elsewhere and with a little restructering your problems can be solved somewhat. The restructering looks like
Drac Sky Dragon - 72 (higher defense, better for a ranged rider)
*** Flame Priestess - 38
Mountain Warbird - 53 (independant, wand shield. and charge, pathfinder keeps it from being stopped by hindering terrain)
Tymra Os Korgas - 37
Rage Hammer - 37
Magestone Bracers - 10
* Zombie Centaur - 24
** Deathsinger - 29
300 total
This version has a harraser and revent unit and also brings in higher defenses and the :mi: mount to make BoL have a bad day. Sweep/Smite gives calvary problems, so your not alone, but the ZC allows you to sacrifice him to set up the C/MC on the sweeper/smiter as well as to set up C/MC or MB on the BoL/SM user. If they surround this unit with filler don't forget the Smite RH gives, but that loses the C/MC combo, but in this case it should be fine. All in all its a nice combo and reminds me of when I was working on fusing 3 army types into 1.....
Thanks...the adjustments you made sound rather good....any ideas about domains to run with this? would you think this army might be good enough for nationals?
domains?.....
Cold Snap for salamanders
Inferno for MoM (range limitations might hurt, but its small)
Storm Gale for BoL/Bombardment/Rava
Mountain Pass for Centaur swarms
Eye of the Storm for Pestillance, Famine, Death, Twister domains
Death for swarms (non centaur variants)
Conviction for anti-faith (dragon gods, cause of freedom, ect)
Domain choice is really up to you and your play style and what you expect to face. Also remember that 1 click down the FP gains Magic Confusion, which can help set up a piece to get C/MC'ed by Tymara and the chicken. Nationals wise, it might do well depending on your match ups and domain selection, overall its well rounded and is not completly nerfed by any 1 popular domain.
Thanks for all the help saberslash...I hope that this army is competetive....I didn't realize she picked up magic confusion....how lovely and wicked ...I like.
- Keep atleast 3 inches between your 2 cav units durring your opponents turn if they have a cav unit with sweep on the field and a large arc (example: Pestilance Horse)
- Don't let yourself get bogged down in terrain traps (placing terrain in such away to create a bottle neck or funneling effect.
- Choose your battles wisely, Cav units aren't invincible so make sure to engage the enemy on your terms not theirs.
- Keep the dragon soaring if possible and if the opponent has no soaring units. However, never stop over terrain you could not exist in (blocking or deep water) you never know when a silvercloud/disruptor will hit. Also try to stay outside the Overwhelm range of another soaring cav unit, it could be disastrous for you.
in the second army i would replace the Deathsinger with a *Painwraith. The 2 points gained enable you to replace the Flame Priestess with a ***Dragon Priest, which i like better.
You lose a little range but gain a healer with a solid 3 ranged damage instead of relying on Mage Blast (i tend to always roll the 1 here). And with his +4 Rider Bonus the Dragon Priest can overwhelm a little better too.
