So, our good general is sporting -3 a wonderouse -3 damage with a 20 defense vs. range and a great 11 inch surge. Plus, now he can whip out his pistol and blast something from 8 inches away, or he can tell the Surok to do whatever he did last turn again. So Volkare tries his best to capture/eliminate anything that the Surok can wound, while the Warriors go squat on objectives and Imperial Legion/Heal out of their three clicks of Demo + Dodge. Hopefully all that bases them are little 2 damage guys.
Relaphon is the best wielder for Storm Maul in my opinion, her GF keeps BoL off her back, and her Invulnerability stops opposing Storm Mauls from hurting her. Essentially, I blast my opponent to smitherines with the Maul, while the Warriors offer a meat shield and Khurga leads her. After my opponent is reduced to 2 or less damage pieces the Warriors head out to do some killing. Pretty straight foreward if you ask me.
Nice, I like both of them. Any thoughts on Domains? Storm Gale would probably work well with Relaphon's Hammer or any movement limiter. I'm tempted to say that Tezla's Avatar would work with both, but I think that in the first it would take away from the point of Volkare, while in the second I would rather have domains that hinder my opponent then help me even more.
first off, Volkare can't have both a potion of vitality and a cloak of shadows, both require :starburst . second BoL will smash Volkare since he doesn't have :mi: I don't think Magestone armor is the best fit for everyones favorite general. Monk's Blade might be a better fit, since it raises his attack and defense. Also packing a few * Shock Troopers or Empire Veterans will allow for an easier capture since you can ganup the capture and raise his attack to atmost a +6 since capturing is a -3 to attack.
The second army however is good, but needs some measure of protection from Rage Hammer since it cans leadership and packs smite. And most often the wielder will be packing toughness which means it will take only 1 damage every other turn and the Smite will smash your meat shield to bits. any unit with crushing blow will hurt Relaphon and *** Ubkhans just eat her for lunch. Otherwise its a nice army.
I completely missed that with Volkare, I originally had a Potion of Dueling on him and then remembered that the Armor took his sword slot so I stuck a Cloak of Shadows on him instead. Silly me. In that case i don't know what I'd do with the Volkare Army, man I wish I had some * Magestone Golems. Well, how about this?

I don't have the massive damage potential, but atleast I can wittle away at my opponent while i try and capture him eh?
As for the Relaphon army, I'm not too worried about Rage Hammer. If I face it I'll just not have my Warriors in formation. He can feel free to rage hammer one of them, but then Khurga and Relaphon are going to get attacks on him after the fact. I could also just tie up the opposing Rage Hammer with one of the Warriors (real easy if it's a Cavalry unit) and just zap away until it's down. Over at KublaCon, my Relaphon army took down a Rava army that fielded all Toughness/Lurking support. It took forever to do it in, but I got through all the damage reduction eventually. That's the magic of Relaphon's Magic Confusion of course, just DT anything that gets too close away from you and start zapping them all over again.
Still, I'm fairly optomistic, and haven't had a proper introduction to the techniques with Rage Hammer just yet (faced a MoM army with Pike and the Hammer, it was ugly [my poor orcs...]).
capture engine and high damage since the lowest you can roll is 4 on volkare i'd say hed get lots of capture kills. Sniper too. Iron wolf shatters formations.
