DC army for Holding the line (need reply before Wednesday-6/16/04)
Alright, here is my army for Holding the line. I chose the DC side. Please tell me what you think.
Name Faction Rank Pt Value
Prophet-Priest Tremelen EF U 92
(With) Disruptor Relic Relic 23
Pain Wraith DC W 27
Salamander DC S 50
(With)Barrow Knight DC W 36
Orc Warbeast OK S 47
Harka Orc OK W 25
Domain card to use: Fen Swamp and/or Open Terrain/Eye of the Storm (maybe Heat Wave) depending on the number of rounds.
I figure I'd run the Salamander to the middle objective and take potshots at my enemie's sluggish warriors. If he tries to fly over, I'd bring his soaring figs down with the Disruptor. I'd put some blocking and deep water terrain down to slow his advance even further and if he makes the mistake of soaring over blocking or deep water, its bye bye for that fig. The Harka-orc will get my near objective then help the Warbeast. I will double-time the warbeast to aid the salamander and send the EF unique to aid as well. If I have enough control over the middle objective with the unique, I'll send the salamander to my opponent's objective.
jeez everybody puts disruptor on wand figs. pp tremelen becomes useless no healing no mage blast it says no figs with in 8" can use wand and golem damage, umm thats tremelen too!

I personally like the Tough version of the Barrow Knight better. The Salamander is the worst mount. But at least with the BPR Salamander you get submerged. You need a better mount. I also don't think that the Prophet Priest is a very good center piece.
I don't like either of the required factions, but if you're not going to use a DC or EL heavy hitter as you're center piece, then you're better off using Chroma or Caldera.
this is the one with 1 objective? use kossak plus BoD get him on the objecetive and u cant be attacked by range or melee, unless a vextha or deathspeeker r flying around which is unlikely.
Here's the deal guys: I don't have the BPR salamander, only the DC one, I need a unique with range that can hold a relic and I don't have that much choice for uniques. What I think I'll do now is replace the Disruptor with the book of Stormcrow and take out the Harka-Orc. This will make the Prophet Priest faster with Fen Swamp.

I need a mount that can actually swim through Fen Swamp (i.e. Salamander) Also, I need that Salamnder to have three DC figs in my army.
Secondly, I have very little range on my army so the Prophet Priest works pretty well. My opponent's warriors will slowly approach the objective. With the book of Stormcrow, my unique can move 6 inches through the Swamp. The mount has a default :defense: of 18. It gets +1 to it's :defense: because of Fen Swamp (:aquatic:) Because it is a calvary unit, the attacker gets -2 to it's ranged attack. That gives the the Salamander a defense of 21 and the mount a defense of 18 against ranged attacks:D On top of that, the Salamander has Terrify. And, if by some chance the Calvary unit gets damaged, the Prophet-Priest can heal him. I believe this is a pretty sound way to control the objectives.
