a while ago i saw a player start his tazia dismounted, in base with a pegusus. in his first turn he trampled her with another cavalry unit and for his second action he mounted her. why does this work? or, was this cheating?
No, you cannot field a mount without a rider, even if the rider is in base contact with the mount. The rider has to be ON the mount, otherwise it would be illegal to field the mount. You can field riders without mounts, but never mounts without riders.
1)dismount
2)move mount
3)DT Tazia & base her mount
next turn
1)mount, you can give the new unit another action after you mount(but it will get 2 action tokens)
look it up in the DR rulebook under mount/dismounting
goodluck & have fun
Here is another way to do this. Start out with another rider on her mount and her running along side. Move tazia out in front of the cavalry unit and then trample her , remembering to put the cav unit in base with her. Then next turn dismount the first rider and mount up tazia. Just remember this. You can only trample with a cavalry unit. You can't trample her with her own mount.
