Many times though counterattack on a wand figure is not as useful as on a melee figure which normally has a higher attack and does more damage. The book holds good number of pages, but sets you back 51 points. Don't lose that sorcerer.

It's an apocalypse figure... I bet it'll be pretty strong at least.
Hopefully the Sorceror is worthwhile with the Counterattack he'll gain from useing his faction book. Their also might be some rockin' Apoc spells to fling around too, so I wouldn't doubt whatever the Sorceror is capable of.
Besides, any Apoc figure has a great beatstick to help out in a fix with Kem leading them.
Sorry, Zap, I did not make myself clear. I was referring to the fact that only the Apoc. get counterattack, and that it may not be that big of a loss to the other factions who do not get counterattack, since counterattack may not be as strong with their wand figures.
Originally posted by nthcircleofhell So I guess the 1 non-unique figure for the Apoc is a :wand: type and has relic slots.
Likely, but not necessarily. They've done things like that before (well, they're doing it in PotSM, there's a ship that gets + to cannon rolls vs forts, and there's no such thing yet...)
But I'm betting the non Apoc is :wand:, and will have a number of 60 or more. :D
This also proves that some SB will have text (up to now, the only ones shown don't have text at all).
Wonder how 51 points fits in with the overall cost of SBs? Probably on the high end, but will there there be low cost 15 page books? Stay tuned. :D
I'm wondering what the point costs are....
Obsidian Codex
51 points gets you a Spellbook that can hold 30 pages and +1 speed(with a bonus if the wielder is Apocolypse faction)
Tome of Brass
33 points gets you a 24 page spellbook.
-1 Speed
+1 Defense
No special bonus......
I'm guessing the Tome of Brass gets a price break because of the -1 speed........ but still, 18 points for 6 more pages plus counterattack.
makes me wonder what other goodies are coming.

They haven't really done it in MK yet, though. The closest is the Technomantic Attractor which had figures which could wield it, but couldn't make use of the special ability in 2.0. There have been a couple of relics that only one figure can use (Shield of the Elven Gods, Magma Lance, et. al.)
